How much can you eat per meal?
My surgeon has me eating 4-5 small meals a day... i am curious as to how my meals compare to what they rest of you are eating. Ive been on a plateau for 2 weeks now and im wondering if im eating too much or not enough or what!
I coped this from another post.. each item is 1 full meal for me..
im 6 weeks 1 day postop and heres what im eating!
-saltines with american cheese on top (i can usually eat 2 of these)
-no bean chilli with cheese & a dip of sour cream (2 TBSP of chilli)
-refried beans with cheese (3 TBSP maybe)
-wendys chicken BLT salad (i try to get in 3-4 of the grilled chicken pieces and 1/2 the cheese..)
-grilled chicken sandwich without the bun from any restaurant (1/3 of the chicken at most is all i can eat, usually 1/4)
-cottage cheese (2 tbsp)
-cheese (1 slice or 3/4 oz)
-tv dinner with baked chicken and mashed potatoes from stoffers and its very good! i ate about 1/3 of the chicken and a few bites of potatoes.
Thanks in advance...
I do a small protein bar for breakfast (U-Turn, 15 grams of protein). I cut it into small pieces and eat slowly.
Lunch/Dinner protein shake or
1/4 cup cottage cheese
3 shrimp
maybe 2 oz of chicken, turkey, imitation crab
If we go out for sushi, I eat the inside (crab, avocado) of less than 1 full cut roll.
I have a little of cooked zucchini, just a couple bites. Strawberries are great (fresh with splenda) but I eat maybe the equilalent of one or two.
My surgeon says 3 meals a day. I normally right now do 4 because I know I am not getting in enough protein otherwise and because of the small quantities I am eating.
Get all my fluids in each day usually.
Hope this helps.

Rachel - It sounds to me like you're not eating enough in some instances! The meats you're eating sound about right to me, but some of the other things surely don't seem like much. BUT, if you're eating 4 to 5 meals per day, you wouldn't require as much each time. AND I think your best judge is yourself! You're certainly not abusing your eating, and as long as you don't do that, the weight will continue to go.
