What are you eatting now?
Hello.. my first time posting on the Feb. board. I am now 6 weeks out, and down 37lbs, and feeling great. I am NEVER hungry, but the doctor said I HAVE to eat at least 2 meals a day until I get some hunger and feel like eatting more. I am doing well with Tuna and Chicken. BUT.. SO TIRED OF THOSE TWO THINGS!! I love cheese, but that's getting old too. So far Mr. Pouch doesnt' like beef, and I havent' ventured to pork or steak yet.. figured the thickness wouldn't sit well if beef isnt?? I don't know...
I work >40 hrs a week, so things that are quick to fix are my cup of tea. Any suggestions?? I generally can't get more than 1 1/2 ouce - 2 ounces in at a time.
Before surgery I ate out all the time, and now HATE eatting out (imagine that..lol) so that means I'm in the kitchen more than ever, but just nothing tastes good or sounds good. Any suggestions?? Thanks guys!!
I love the beef out of a beef and bean burrito. I don't know how our Mexican restaurant get's it so fine. I do rotisere chicken from the deli, it is alway so tender. I can't eat much of it. I did put some tyson chicken strips in the slow cooker with onion, bell pepper, tomatoes and mushrooms, and used a whole lot of seasonings and I was able to eat two of them. It took me about 20 minutes, but it was real easy going down. I tried some vienna sausages the other day, they were okay, not my favorite thing. I really don't care for eggs any more.
I had a salad for the first time the other night and it was so delicious. I put deli turkey meat, cubes of cheddar cheese sliced cucumber, black olives, green olives and crumbled bacon. It was so good, since I haven't had a salad in a long time. I was only able to eat half of what I put in my bowl, but I did eat all the meat and cheese. I hope I gave you some decent ideas.
Oh, I did do a half of a hot dog with hormel chili, cheddar cheese, onions and a little bit of kraut. It sat pretty well.
Good luck,

I bought a low carb slow cooker recipe book and have starting using that. Really helps and my hubby doesn't mind left overs either. Everything is soooo tender and moist.
For proteins I use: cottage cheese, cheese, pinto beans, chicken, turkey, low carb yogurt, fi****hink it mixes up the tastes and textures when you make it in a recipe instead of just cooking it by itself. My surgeon says absolutely no beef as a post op ... too hard to digest and too high fat too. So haven't tried it at all.
I don't mind eating out, it is just sometimes hard to find what I want. Today we went out and I order a side of chicken breast and a side of avocado. Ate a tiny amount of each and brought it home. Cost under $5 so that was good. Cut it up and home and put it in the freezer for another few meals. I'm going to start taking part of my hubby's meal I think since I only want a couple of bites and he doesn't seem to mind. Today tho, he had eggs and the only time I tried them they got stuck so wasn't willing to try them today that was for sure.

i tried deli turkey but have a hard time chewing it up
theres a tv dinner with baked chicken and mashed potatoes from stoffers and its very good! i ate about 1/3 of the chicken and a few bites of potatoes.
anyway... when im going somewhere and dont know what i might eat, i carry some crackers in my purse and get a slcie of cheese. this is my fall back "meal", tho i try not to eat it often because of the carbs in the crackers.
