How much do you exercise?
Hey Feb post-ops! What kinds of exercise have you been doing, and how much of it? Curious to know! The first month I walked about 45 minutes total a day... and I've been slacking the past couple of weeks. I'm going to go back to at least 30 minutes of brisk walking per day and start 30 minutes of water aerobics at least 4 times a week. I'm curious about the rest of you! I need motivation!

I am walking on the treadmill at the gym 6 days a week. I am up to 45 minutes a day at a speed of 2.2 I am starting to really enjoy going. I am going in the morning which is very hard but I make it part of my regular day before I go to work. The sixth day is either Sat or Sun and done at my leasher unlike during the week. I make going to the gym at 5:30am a habit like being at work at 9am. Good luck on your journey and stay motivated. THINK THIN!

I've just recently started back at the gym. Usually 3 days a week for AT LEAST 30 minutes of very brisk walking. I know that 3 days isn't a lot, but I was really worried about burning myself out too quickly. I remember in the past (pre-op) always getting "gung-ho" about going to the gym & then after going everyday for a couple of weeks, getting tired of going all the time. So I figured that I would just start out slowly.
I tried a spinning class last night. I have one word for you . . . OUCH! My tush is sooo sore, I'm walking around like an idiot I'm thinking about trying water areobics. Has anyone tried that yet?

I was walking on a treadmill 30 minutes a day starting about 2 weeks
post-op. Then my ankle and foot blew up and I could barely walk for about a month. (I strained a tendon.)
It's much better now and I'm walking around pain free again. I'll probably start back on the treadmill soon, although as the weather get's better, I'm getting outside and exercising.
I tried the fitness center workouts a couple of times too, and always quit after a few months, because it got to be a hassle going out all the time.
That's why I bought a treadmill now. That way, if the weather is bad, I can still walk every day. I even have a TV by it so I dont have the excuse that I'll miss my favorite shows!
Sounds like you've got a pretty good plan for exercising.
Just stick to it, but don't overdo it.
