...so to speak. I don't mean to sound niave, but is there a time when we don't have to worry about strictures or other complications? And if there is one, what is the timeline? Just curious... ~Carrie 7 weeks Post-Op 307/280/current 248

I'm not 100% sure we're "ever" out of the woods totally. I have a friend 9 mos out who was just back in the hospital today for the 3rd time, this time with an internal hernia... (symptoms were abdominal pain). (apparently the bowels just 'float' in the abdominal cavity, and hers decided to take a little trip up in one of the new openings towards the 'roux limb'). The 2nd time was for gallbladder surgery, and the first time she was in was for drainage issues I believe... I would say when the weight loss stabilizes, that's the closest we will get to being out of the woods statistically, but I'm not a surgeon... ( but I *did* stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.. just kidding! ). At any rate, that's basically what the surgeon said last night when we talked to him about it (we went over to see her right after her surgery and were with her daughter when the surgeon came in).. Your surgeon may have a different opinion, or I may have misunderstood but that's what I understand to date. ...Nick
