HI Kristen,
47 pounds is awesome!! From everything I read what you are experiencing is completely normal! Your body has to take a break from losing. It will start losing again, DO NOT WORRY! A few things I would suggest:
Maybe try to get more protein in, I'm not one of those who advocates all protein, but in your post I didn't see much mention of any protein.
Add exercise, even if it's just walking, but I would also add some light weight training. If you don't know how to proceed with that, let me know I can recommend some easy exercises for you.
Lastly, if you are weighing yourself everyday that is too much, once a week at most, that will cut down on the frustration!
Good luck, you are doing wonderfully!!!
47 pounds in 6 weeks....feel very blessed. i have lost 25 in 4.5 weeks. i try to not get discouraged and compare myself to others loss but then i see 40/50 + pounds on others and think what the hek am I doing wrong.....then i slap myself and realize that i am doing exactly what i am supposed to be doing. i am eating nothing but protein, exercising as much as i am able so it will happen for me also. you are doing fine. i have read from other much more experienced members on this site that we all hit plateaus at different times and a lot of them say especially around the 5 or 6 week mark. keep doing what you are doing but i agree with another writer to push the protein. take care,
You didn't mention protein. Protein is very important and should be the priority. If you have room for veggies and fruit after protein, then add them in.
I'm 4 weeks out and down 18 lbs since surgery (68 total since last year). They told me I was right on track. So 47 lbs in 6 weeks is fantastic. I stopped at 2 weeks and resumed weight loss a week later. I think our bodies are just taking time to regroup and adjust. Remember it has gone thru some major changes.
Also don't forget exercise is extremely important, even just walking each day will help in the weight loss efforts.

I'm 7 1/2 weeks out and down 40 pds. Your doing great! Week 4 and
5 I actually gained a pound. It was muscle from increasing excersize
I was also probably on a platau(sp?), anyway. I lost about 5 pds in
week 6 and in the last week and a half I havn't lost anything else. Don't
worry about it, this is normal. Your body is shifting readjusting and
rebuilding muscle. You made a choice to invest in a long term health program when you had the surgery and if you just keep doing what your doc's tell you the weight will come off. I like to go look at the before and after pictures when I start getting frustrated and I find this really helps. There are sooo many of them! Next year maybe we will all be on that page
together! Hang in there, you are doing a fantastic job! Oh yeah, I
almost forgot, are you getting enough sleep. I had this surgery because
I developed sleep apnea so badly that it was causing me to gain
3-5 pds a week while on Weigh****chers and at that time I was
working out everyday. We lose alot of our weight when we sleep this
is also the healing time for our skin and will help with elasticity.
Sleep tight,
Eileen
