How much water can you sip at a time?

Hi Everyone! I am 5 weeks post op and down about 50 lbs. I find out officially tomorrow! Up until about a week ago, I could only take a couple of small sips of water at a time. If I drank more, my pouch would feel tingly, kind of sensitive. This past week I have noticed that I can drink more and more each time - like right now I took about 2 large gulps w/ no problems which was very refreshing. Something very similar to pre-op. How about you all? I wonder if I have stretched my pouch? Thanks so much in advance and take care! xeniWLS

I had a lot of pouch pain from water. It stopped overnight a little past 5 weeks. I can now take about 3 swallows of water, but I can only take that much at night. I have to sip in the morning up until mid day. I don't think you have stretched your pouch. It is just relaxing a bit from the trama of surgery and the swelling is going down. MHO. Debbie -31

Thanks! I think you're right. It's the little things like gulping water that make me happy!
