I WANT TO GIVE UP BUT CAN'T!
Sweetie, how many calories does your nutritionist say you are supposed to have at this stage?
You're a doll! I am just so overwhelmed right now with not losing anything. I am a slow loser anyhow so the weight will never "drop off" but even slow is better than none. I am having my DH hide the scale when he gets home. I can't deal with it anymore. It is going to have the same fate as the one in my profile is going to have if I don't put it away.
Cheerleaders huh? Does that mean short skirts too? Bet you have sexy legs.
Joanne
Just hang in there. And stay away from the scale,
everyone is right, muscle weighs more and you need to let your body decide what it is doing, also I think our body goes into starvation mode where it doesnt burn calories for awhile until it realizes it has to start burning.
I hope I said that right.
Keep the faith

Stay off the scale - I decided I won't weigh til I see my Dr for visits, since my scale will only drive me crazy. If you think you aren't losing, measure yourself instead. As for food, I only manage to do about 500 cals a day, but most days, I manage to get 50-60g of protein in. I find that I lose faster when I get more protein in. And of course, exercise helps out greatly too.
Have you been measuring? You may find that the weeks you don't lose pounds, you are actually losing inches. Notice how your jeans are fitting. At 600 cals per day with exercise you will lose. Make sure you get enough protein and fluids and time will show you the results. Losing is a stair step thing. Your efforts will pay off.
I applaud your exercise! You are doing great!

Joanne,
I know it's hard not to be disappointed. We go into this surgery thinking about how it's going to change our lives but we have to remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, it will take time. You are doing great! Thank God you are eating again, and don't worry, the weight will start coming off again. I agree with everyone else, quit weighing yourself so much. I would add one thing though, it sounds like your exercise is great, but I would add some weight training. You need to build muscle to burn fat, plus you will have a more toned look. Just get a cheap set of dumbbells and do bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, shoulder shrugs, flys. ect. If you are unfamiliar with these exercises let me know and I can e-mail you directions on how to perform them and how many to do! Good luck doll and keep your chin up!
Hi Stacey:
Can you email me those instructions? Do you have any for the inner thighs and buttocks? I had my surgery Feb 18 and my but is already sagging.

Thanks.
Hey Joanne,
Are you measuring yourself? I know that I went almost 2 weeks without a change in weight, but every week I lost inches. This is known as loosing chunks in some circles.
I had surgery on Feb 18th, with major complications. I am 5 weeks, 2 days post-op and have lost 28 lbs so far. I am eating anything I want. Everything I eat, I try to make sure it has protein. It is rare I eat just carbs. I have not as of yet gotten sick or dumped. I guess the surgeon gave me an iron pouch!
Good luck and take it easy...this is not going to happen overnight. If you take your total weight and divide it by the number of weeks out, you should see that there is light! Could you have lost that much per week without the surgery?
Hang in there girl...chin up and all that
