Long day at UCLA today. I saw the dietitian and the nutritionist. They were very happy with my weight loss (15 lbs -- 3 weeks post-op) and told me that I was right on target. I can start pureed foods if I want now or wait another week. I compromised and am doing a little now, but mostly liquid for another week. I did try mash potatoes tonight. Very good, went down fine and no problems. I ate about 1/3 cup or less. No full feeling tho, so I stopped rather than take a chance because I knew I was satisfied. We walked and walked, took stairs instead of elevator when possible. Really got a workout. Packed a Carb Solutions yogurt for lunch. Worked out great. Was suppose to see my surgeon later this afternoon. Found out right after lunch that he had an emergency surgery so all of his appts were cancelled for the day. So I had to rescheduled. Was disappointed, but I understand. I left a message to see if I can drive and also to see if I can ride my exercise bike. The rest of my questions can wait till I see him. Mary

Forgot to add, they had me get a B12 shot today. Said it was normal procedure for them this soon after surgery and to go ahead and start the sublinqual B12 next week.

Sound like you are doing great! Glad you get to introduce some new foods! My doc suggested that as you add new foods, not to add more than one new thing at a time so that if something does not set well, you will know what it was. (I remember doing that with my kids!) I bet you don't have any problems with anything! Joy

Thanks Joy. That was what I was planning to do. Want to take it slow and easy. Mary

Congratulations Mary! Did you ever think that plain mashed potatoes could taste so good. Hope you can drive soon too. Life just keeps getting better and better doesn't it. Eileen

Heard from doctor today. I can drive (because I'm not in pain or taking RX pain pills --- actually no pain meds at all since 3rd day out). He says tho no exercise for at least 2 months except for walking.
