It has been 3 weeks post-op and i am doing good. I am now at a 50 Pond weight loss in 3 weeks. I am shocked and happy to see it happening I started on my pureed phase on Monday and so far so good. I am holding things down and chewing and eating very slow. I am finally drinking more and i am trying to walk more. My knees are very bad though from sports (see my profile) so that makes it difficult. My clothes are getting bagggy and wrinkly, i can't wait to looses more!! I am still on my protien drinks to keep up and i am trying to figure out how to get it in on my pureed meals. Any ideas or hints? Please let me know if anyone has a suggestion. I am still on pain meds, my tummy has pain and sleeping is still on my back . I tried on my back and it is too painful, and when i move around more i have more pain what should i do? Thanks

WOW ... you have done GREAT. I'm 3 weeks out and down 15 lbs. I am definitely losing inches too so the clothes are baggy. Isn't it great. I've been sleeping on my back or side since about the 5th night after surgery. I wore the binder 24/7 until about a week ago and found that really help support the area and help to cut down the pain I believe. If you pain is severe or goes on for long periods of time, you really should call your doctor. I'm still on liquids for another 1 to 3 weeks (find out tomorrow), but when I do pureed I plan to add in tuna, salmon, any protein food as the main ingredient to up the protein. I realize the first week, I will just need to take it really easy but can't wait for tuna with some fat free mayo on it or even mashed potatoes thinned out. YUMMMM. Carb Solutions yogurt by Dannon would also give you some added protein. I love the raspberry/creme one the best. Mary

Great job on the loss! As far as sleeping on your back goes.... it will come. It took me until about the 4th week when I could finally sleep on my sides... of course if you are a person who flip-flops from side to side... that will take some time to. I am just over 5 weeks out and feeling fine and sleeping how I want. But not on my tummy.... LOL.

You are doing terrific! As far as protein foods, I try adding a slice of melted FF cheese to what I can (5 gm protein). FF refried beans have protein and I posted a recipe for soup. Cottage cheese is also protein rich. My doc said poached or soft boiled eggs are the easiest to digest, and eggs have 6 gm protein each. We will probably all have to keep up with the protein supplements for at least until we can do meat though. 50 lbs less will have to be helping your knees! Weigh to go!! Joy -19 lbs/ 17 days
