Hello everyone........I am 5 weeks post-op and I still have no energy. Is this normal? It seems like I am tired all the time and all I want to do alot of the time is sleep. This last week I started taking short walks, not to far yet. To date I weighed myself today and I am down 45 lbs in 5 weeks from having my surgery. I thought I didn't do very good this last week as far as losing but I guess I did better than I thought I did. Well I'll post again soon......Take care everyone......Paula

Congratulations on your weight loss. You are doing GREAT!! Are you taking vitamins? Are you taking a sublinqual B12 -- I get mine at Trader Joes, about $7 for 100. They melt under your tongue and get into your blood stream immediately. B12 is an energy vitamin. Are you getting in enough protein each day? 60 grams is the absolute minimum needed to maintain healthy muscles in your body and remember your heart is a muscle too. Have you had lab work (blood tests) run since surgery to make sure you are not anemic or that your other blood levels are normal. My doctor recommends 3 week, 7 week, 15 week follow-ups with blood work. Hope you feel better soon. Mary

I have been so tired too! They say it is because we are losing so fast that we feel this way. I am going to get me some B-12 today I definately need the boost! I just feel so drained and don't even want to get off the couch! The second week I felt great, now I am dragging!

Hi Paula, I understand exactly what you are saying...It takes so much for me to get up and out of bed...If it wasn't for my kids getting up for school I probaly would be in bed constantly...I went to my dr and got the B-12 shot...I absolutely HATE taking pills so one less for me makes me happy...I agree with the vitamins, they have helped me alot espicially the iron...But maybe you should call the dr just to make sure...Congrats on your weight loss....I had surgery on the 5th of February and I have lost 35lbs as of 17th of february...I am looking foward to getting weighed again...Don't lose hope and all I can say is at least get out of bed and walk around your house to keep yourself moving.
