I had surgery on Feb 23. I have lost 19 pounds ! However, EVERYTHING I eat or drink hurts once it hits my stomach. Some broths and even water. I asked my doctor last week and he said it was gas. But I know this is different. I plan on calling in the morning, I want him to take a closer look. Has anyone experience this? Thanks, Kim

Me too! It hurts like crazy anymore. I went in today and had an xray of my stomach and some blood work. Am waiting to hear the results...hopefully tomorrow. May your discomfort end soon. -Rusty

OOOHhh it hurts bad. Only for a few minutes. It makes me afraid to eat, but I know I have to. Please let me know what your doc said. I was hoping it would just be a phase, but I don't know. Thanks for replying. Now I know that I am not the only one. Talk to you soon-Kim

Hope both of you find some answers. I'm on full liquids for 4 weeks, so far no problems with any fluids. Mary

Thanks Mary. I hope my doctor will look into this deeper. I talk to a lot of people and everyone is doing fine. So I know I don't supposed to be feeling like this. Kim

Mine hurts when I take too big of a drink or bite, try taking the tiniest sips and see if it makes a difference, it did for me and eventually I worked my way back to bigger drinks.

My surgery date was 2-24 i also have a hard time, especially with water, it makes me nauseated. isnt that weird. i thought it was only me. i know they want us to sip the water but but that hurts more than 2 big gulps. i find that feels better. sipping lets too many gas bubbles in. will be curious what your doc says. Paula, I know exactly what you're talking abou****er makes me nauseated too, especially in the morning. I also do the 2 gulp things...sipping makes me swallow too much air. I think thats mostly what hurts me when I eat or drink...the air the gets trapped down there. I burp after almost everything I swallow (food or liquid). Someone posted about "tooting" all the time. I sometimes think that the air that doesn't get burpped up eventually comes out the other way. My surgeon suggested I drink everything through a straw to help minimized the amount of air I swallow. It doesn't seem to help me much, but maybe it'll help you all. Darrin

How strange... my surgeon said NO straws... beccause of the air that is in the straw that you have to suck in first before you get to the liquid. And that is forever. They said I can never use a straw again because of the air.
