What are you eating? Please Respond!
Well, I had my surgery 2/23 & I am feeling pretty good (physically at least - lol). I had to fast for 1 week before surgery (it was sooo hard), then after surgery my doctor has us do each "stage" for one week. As of Monday 3/8 I was 2 weeks post op & on the "pureed stage". The thought of pureeing anything other then fruit simply makes me gag - so I have been eating mashed potatoes, ff split pea soup, cream of wheat & lf peanut butter (about a teaspoon & consume it over a 1/2 hour). I have been really lucky since I haven't vomited yet myself, but I did dump the first couple of days home since I was using skim milk (& yogurt). I started using ff lactaid w/soy protein & it is working better (I used it in the mashed potatoes). For my protein drinks I either use the chocolate advant edge or the isopure (when I don't want the "milky" taste). Other then that it is s/f koolaid, crystal lite, diet snapple, or black cherry propel. Monday I get to switch to "soft foods" - & I'm looking forward to something different - eggs maybe (I just hope I can keep them down as I know a lot of people can't). I wish I had more suggestions - I guess I'm rather stuck myself . . . . . ~Amanda~
I was 3 weeks out monday. at my 10 day check up i was told to move on to soft/pureed (sf pudding, cottage cheese, maltomeal, etc) for a few days then i could start trying different things. i have tried scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes and didn't like either. I can eat FF refried beans with cheese melted and some of the soups at hand but only about 3 bites. I also make sort of a fake devilled eggs that is pretty good but if i eat it say 2 times in a row i can't eat it again for several days
i actually made some broiled catfish the other night and took 3 itttttyyyyybitttyyyy bites and thought i had gone to heaven!!!I bought the carb solutions protein powder and blend it with skim milk, a tablespoon of peanut butter and ice so it has a shake consistency. Even though i am pretty sick of sweet stuff from the previous stage i do enjoy the carb solutions vanilla cream yogurt. i guess i am keeping it pretty simple but can't wait for next week to start with more tuna, fish, chicken.
i was never a pizza eater before (except the crust of course) but i have been craving a meat lovers..just the toppings...however, my doctor stressed NO BEEF/MEAT for several months as it is too hard to digest. Anyone tried the meat and how did it go?
