The 30 grams of protein theory varies from surgeon to surgeon. My surgeon at UCLA believes that double scooping the protein powder is fine.

I feel absolutely super...as long as I don't eat! The liquid diet was great, but last week I was to move up to pureed food. I feel like I've swallowed a boulder and am in pain for 2-4 hours after each meal! I'm chewing, waiting 3 minutes between bites, using a baby spoon...just not feeling so hot. I can go to the gym and water walk for an hour every day and feel great. But let me eat any food and I'm hugging a heating pad and wishing I could induce vomiting...but I don't vomit easily, even when I try to make myself do it. Hope everyone else is doing wonderfully. -Rusty

Rusty, I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with the food. Are you eating semi-solid things or just pureed? I go from the liquid phase (at 4 weeks) to pureed so things that are yogurt consistency, even cream soups then are to be strained. Definitely talk to your doctor. Hope he has some suggestions for you. Mary
