Today is one week and I have lost 20 pounds!!!! I can feel my clothes getting bigger and my skin isn't so tight. I am having trouble sleeping still and only on my back. I am trying to prop myself to one side a little to give my back a break. I am not hungry and i fill up fast with the liquids. It is hard to force fluids down but i wasn't having enough and i had a headache and felt blah. Now i am having more calories and protien and i feel better. I still don't sit on the coutch yet because it's too hard to get out of yet. I can't wait to start the pureed phase in 2 weeks. I hope the pain goes away soon.I am still taking my pain meds. ! Jill

Good for you, Jill Tommorrow is my one week, but I got the good news today, sort of. I'm coming down with a soar throat and went in to my PCP today to make sure I wasn't getting strept throat. I weighed in at 20lbs less than the week and half ago I was in his office . I'm having a little trouble with the protein shakes...they're disgusting ! I too have gotten the blahs and headaches, so I guess I'll need to push myself to drink them. Not really having a problem with water at least . Keep up the great work!! Darrin

Jill, I had lap rny on 2/26. Am on the phase 2, full liquid stage. I am using a protien shake I got from my medical group. Has 25 g protein and when I mix it with milk it has 33 g. I drink 4 oz per meal. I found the chocolate a little too intense, so mixed it with a vanilla one. Then I found if I added a little more skim milk, 20 oz instead of 16 to make a double batch, was more palatable. I use this for 4 of my 6 meals per day. The other two are either yogurt, sugar free pudding (made with extra powdered dry milk added). I am getting about 75-80 g protein right now. I guess I am pretty lucky, don't have any problem getting this down or drinking water, popsicles, etc in between. I am just tired of all the sweet stuff. Can't wait for the next phase, some meat, vegetables even though they will have to be pureed. Keep moving as much as you can, it will make the pain ease faster. Best of luck.
