2 days after my bypass I am home and feel awesome. I little sore but NO PAIN!! This has been a truly remarkable experience. I wish I didn't waste all my energy being nervous pre-op. I hope you all continue on a losing path and please keep in touch. I feel that we truly need each other because the surgery was the easy part. The eating will be more of a challenge. To all who are scheduled...the best of luck and my only advise is the walk as soon as you can..it truly helps. To all who have undergone the WLS already..continued success. By the way, did anyone not have a drain postop? I did not so I was just curious.

Sharon, Congrats to you! I'm so glad everything is going well for you. I had my bypass on 2/17 and am also doing well. I agree that walking asap is the best advise to give someone who just had surgery. I did have a drain post-op and was taken out on the last day of my hospital stay. If we could all go back now and take away all the nervous times we had pre-op, we could have saved ourselves a lot of time and energy, but sometimes I think, the more we think about it and are concerned, the more serious we are. Good luck to you on a speedy road to recovery! Take care of yourself! ~Marcia~

Congratulations, Sharon. Glad you are doing so well. I did not have a drain nor do most of the patients of my surgeon (no one I have talked to that has had surgery with him has had a drain). I had lap RNY on Feb 3rd and feel pretty good physically - - as far as I'm concerned, lap is the only way to go. You're right, food issues are a challenge, but I figure there are thousands of others who have made it through, and I will, too. Just having a bit of a time right now adjusting. Much success to you and all others, both pre-op and post-op!

Sharon, I am so happy to read that your surgery went so well and that you are comfortable and ready to take on the eating challenge. I hope that I am as lucky on 2/24 when I have mine. Good luck with everything and may you be a successful loser and obtain your healthy goals and happiness. Stacy Lewis

Hi! I had surgery on 2/16 and am now one week 1 day post-op. I must say that I feel great with just a little pain on my left side. I'm thinking that this may be where the staples on my new pouch are. I think. I have an appointment w/my surgeon on Thursday so I hope I'll be told I'm still doing great. I'm so grateful and thankful for how well the surgery went for me and for all on this website. I started to look around for a website just like this, b/c I'm feeling like I want to eat and when I'm finally allowed to eat mushy foods, I have to still deal with the emotional eating crap. I wish they could remove that problem too w/surgery! LOL. I did not have a drain post-op - just 5 incisions. To all who are scheduled try and not be nervous -- it will be great!
