Hello everyone- Just wanted to let everyone know I am home and doing well. Each day things get easier and easier. I went to the doctor 2 days ago to have the drain removed and found out I lost 16lbs already. It has been pretty much all water weight lose because I wasn't able to eat anything at all the first few days home. Now I am trying to figure out what mushy foods I can eat. The hardest part has been dealing with the nausea. But I am keeping a positive outlook and keep telling myself I am strong enough to get through this. I know in a year I will look back at this and laugh. I will ask if anyone has any food suggestions, please e-mail me. Thanks again.

Hi Jeanette,I had my lap-rny on the 16th,and I feel pretty good . Last night I did not sleep too good but other than that I feel great. It was scary but not that I wanted to change my mind.I think you go with the attitude things will be good and they will. Just think of the things you will be able to do and the goals you will be able to achieve now.Don't worry about the food or the water, etc. just yet. Think of the benifits you will have. Best of luck to you and all you ladies and gents going through this happy new birth this month........Marion

The surgery was actually the easiest part. I could say, "Don't be nervous" but we both know you will be anyway. I was sooo nervous up until the very end. I will say that the recovery has so far been pretty good. I wish you all the best and I hope you will e-mail me when you are done.

How wonderful, you are doing so well. I am 5 days post op. Sorry I have no food suggestions. I do have to ask though, how was the drain coming out? Painful?

I am 11 days post op. Went to the doc 3 days ago and had my drain removed. GASP! He told me to take a deep breath and exhale... I guess that was supposed to make it better. But there's no way I could have exhaled long enough for him to pull out the 3 miles of tubing that was in me. OK, OK... maybe it wasn't 3 miles worth, but it seemed like it. It wasn't all that bad, but it did pinch and burn while it was being pulled out. But afterwards, it was such a relief not to have it, the while thing was worth it. Good luck to all ... especially those who have upcoming surgery dates. Try to focus on the future, its getting brighter for all of us.

WOW. You are the first for me, to explain the tube drain coming out. I am dreading that. I go on wed to have mine out.I am not looking forward to it at all! I am such a baby.LOL But I guess I should buck up and take it because I had 2 total knee replacements last year and the lap-rny so I guess I can handle that don't cha think???? It just sounds so scary.Anyway thanks for the information and best of luck to you. Happy losing to you too......Marion

I have to admit, the draining coming out was not so bad for me. It was pretty quick and just felt like a worm being pulled out of me quickly. It is over before you know.

Same here, mine was really quick and not painful at all. It shouldn't be a problem. Good luck!! I am just wondering about getting my staples removed on Tuesday.
