Devistated!!!!

I just got a call from my surgeons office saying they have to postpone my surgery because they couldn't find a surgeon's assistant for my surgery! My surgery was supposed to be this Monday 2/23! I have worked two years to get this, wrote letters to all my friends and family, posted here, made arrangements for someone to housesit, and made lodging arrangements for my hubby and I. The surgeon's office couldn't even give me a new date yet, but will call when the arrangements have been made. My surgery was to be in Santa Rosa, CA...90 miles from my home and my surgeon wants me to stay in town for at least 5 days post op in case there are complications and to take the staples and drain out. You all know how extreme emotions can get the week before surgery. Joy, excitement, fear, anxiety, sadness. I was finally getting myself grounded and psyched for this. I know things will happen when they're supposed to, but this really knocked me down emotionally. Hence the reason I come here to you wonderful people for support. Thanks, Sandy Palmer

Im really sorry to hear....Im sure there is a reason and sometimes it is hard to hve Faith when things like this happen but we have to continue to have Faith so we can still drudge the days ahead....good luck and hope your new date is REAL SOON. Joanne

Gosh i feel so sorry for you. i am to have surgery 2-24-04 and i know if that had happened to me i would be so upset.. the only consolation is that things happen for a reason.. trust in the lord that he knows what he is doing but i will pray for you, that you will have your surgery soon.. Sandy.....I'm so sorry, I'm sure you can not imagine why this happened to you right now, hold on to the faith you have girl! You have come so far, DO NOT let go now. Keep reading and researching, focus on more knowledge, This is just a bump in the road not a pot-hole. God Bless!! Jeanie

Oh Sandy, that is a horrible thing to experience. I would call them every day until they give you a date (or is 3/1 the date they gave you?). If they postpone a week that is not a terribly long time to have to wait, but it sure wreaks havok with your schedule and plans. My surgery was postponed from 2/23 to 3/1, but thank goodness it was done a month ago before my plans were set. I will pray for peace and patience for you. I know there is a purpose for this--sure would make it easier if you knew what it was!!! Joy
