Hi everyone, I'm glad to be home. The surgery went well and I'm recovering nicely. I had a bout with depression last night. I was missing not being able to eat dinner. I'm already sick of these protein shakes. This has been a great learning experience about myself. I always knew I had a problem with food and I knew it was bad, but the withdrawals from not eating are as bad as craving a cigarette (or drugs, or alcohol. I used to be a smoker so that's the only addiction I can relate to.) The first question I get from everyone that I've talked to so far is, "are you glad you did it?" I can't say just yet. It's hard to be happy that you won't get to eat solid foods for 6 weeks and must drink thin liquids for the first 3 weeks. Once I see some weight drop, I'm sure I'll be happier about it all. I'm just really hungry and food is every where! Karen

Congratulations Karen! I am so glad everything went well for you. I am next to go. Hang in there. I am already dreading the protein drinks then we can't use straws either and easier for me to drink unpleasant beverages with a straw. But anyway, take it easy. Sue
