Hello there.. My surgery was February 2 and I have to admit that it went more smoothly than I could have anticipated. I had lap roux n y and the surgery was complete in 2 hours. I was discharged on Wednesday morning and home relaxing with my family. Dr. Hamad leaves the drain in for 10 days post op, so that was an annoyance, but no major problems with that. Pain was minimal, I actually anticipated it being worse than it was. I was very thankful for that. Barely used my pain medicine in the hospital or at home recovering. I am actually back to work half days this week and am enjoying easing back into things. Although I do still tire easily. I was on clear liquids until the 12th, and am now on pureed foods. I still have absolutely no appetite. I have actually 'forgotten' about getting in three meals on one or two occasions. :-0 But have tried to get better about that. I'm still being cautious with what I'm eating, haven't gotten too brave yet. But I'm sure I will. I'm drinking tons of water and still enjoying it, so I'm happy about that. Also drinking some decaffeinated iced tea, in addition to milk and some sugar free hot cocoa. I've decided not to weigh myself until I go for my one month follow up. I don't notice a difference, but other people say they can tell. So who knows. I don't want to become a slave to the scale. I've been doing walking around the house, but the weather's crappy so haven't done much of that. I may go to the mall tonight and walk there. And I've been looking at some walking videos/dvds which are supposed to be really good. I must admit that I've been surprised how smoothly this has all gone. There has been food that sounds good, but nothing is really giving me cravings. Anyhow, I just wanted to share the experience I'm having so far. I hope things are going as smoothly for others!! Glad to be on the losing side...and wish everyone else success! Michelle
