Hi all, Had a great surgery and am so far am doing great with my recovery. The surgery took place on Wednesday the 11th and I was so happy to have it done. All the nurses kept after me to take pain meds but there was no need, I wasn't hurting at all. I finally did take a pain shot around 8 pm. Not to quit hurting but to prevent it when they got me up for the first time, I got up and walked around different routs, extending them each trip. Finally I went back to bed and fell peacefully asleep. Next morning, I started walking earlier and walked at a pretty fast pace. All the nurses were cheering me on. I felt a little like Rocky. I only took pain meds at night since sleeping meds were not ordered. My temp went up on Thursday night and I was worried that I could have an infection, but that night around 4 a.m. I woke up and the fever had broken during a pretty heavy sweat. Friday morning,I got to come home and my family has been wonderful. They want to wait on me hand and foot but I can't allow them to because I have to get my strength back up.And the first step in doing that is to buck up and take care of yourself. Thanks for all the prayers and the kind words from all of you.

Hi Nancy! I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well! Make sure you take care of yourself. Your family sounds like they are more than willing to help out, and it probably makes them feel needed, so let them. You need to be very careful of how hard you push yourself as to not get an infection or hurt your incision. (You will need to remind me of what I just wrote in about 5 days as I am having surgery tomorrow and like to do for others and don't like others to do for me.) I hope all keeps going very well for you! Keep us posted on your progress and keep up the good work! ~MARCIA~
