Hello Everyone.... ...I'm on the losing side of the field...... Hello everyone.....just wanted to let everyone know I am finally home. I had my VBG on Feb 3rd and just got out of the hospital on Feb 12. The surgery went good. But I ended up with a couple infections a urineary track infection and a colon infection which keep me in the hospital a little longer than I would have liked to stay. I am still so very sore and tired but in the long run I believe this surgery will be the best thing I've ever done for myself........Things such as eating and such are going good...... I know when I start to get to the limit of what I can and can't eat, and the amount of food...(liquids) I can take in at one time. The hardest part of this whole thing so far for me is getting used to only taking sips of something to drink instead of a big drink. I made the mistake the first night home and took a very BIG drink of milk and it made me in the kitchen sink. That is the only time since the surgery I have vomited. Thank GOD.....but it did make me feel a little better after I did... It really didn't hurt to vomit but I don't want to take the chance of it happening again, so for right now I'm going to stick to the diet the nutritionist suggested. Soup, brooth, carnation instant breakfast, jello, pudding, cream of wheat, unsweeten juices, water, ice chips, to name a few for the next week to 2 weeks, until I see my doctor then. Then I can start to introduce a few soft solids (pureded) foods...HURRAH!!!...real food.....finally...... Don't get me wrong.....I would really like to have a nice juiciy cheeseburger at this moment but can't because my stomach can't handle real food yet.....and the craving of sweets and chips just isn't there right now and I am greatfull they are not. I have lost which I still can't imagine to date already 27 LBS in just 10 days of my surgery. When I walked into my house my friend told me that I looked liked I had lost weight, so when we went to the store for a few things, I weighed myself and sure enough I had lost 27 LBS.......I still think that is impossible to loss that much weight in that short of time but I have. I don't see it or feel like I have but she says she can see it. Well getting a little tired and sore sitting here in front of the computer. When I'm feeling a little less sore and tired I'll come back and tell you all more of my journey.... Everyone Take Care and Yes if I could choose to have this again even though I've had a few problems.. I would give the thumbsup to anyone who would consided it and ....I would do this surgery again.... Bye for now......Paula.....Lincoln, Nebraska.....

Wow! 27 pounds in 10 days--that HAS to be some kind of record. Congratulations! Try not to be disappointed if that rate of loss does not continue, but you WILL keep losing! Thanks for posting and sharing Joy (surgery 3/1)
