home from hospital

I'm home. Had surgery on Tuesday and came home Thursday afternoon. Overall am doing WAY better than I thought I would be. Some abdominal pain, mostly on the left side. Some choking and coughing as I try to keep my sinus drainage out of my stomach. Surgery was uneventful and recovery time in the hospital was steady. DO keep your own schedule though for walking and moving... the nurses are so busy that they move you occassionally, but not as often as you should be up. Push yourself some here. I did have some complications the night before surgery. I couldn't keep the phospha soda down. I called my doc and they gave me alternate instructions. Still pooped my brains out. Now concentrating on trying to get some nutrition introduced into my body. I can keep down water and gatorade maybe a little popsicle... but no protein drink yet. Did get a couple of spoons of yogurt to go down. Best wishes to all and thanks for all of the support. T

i had my surgery on monday and was released friday. had a few minor complications but now all is well i do believe. i am far from home so i am staying in a hotel for the next 5 days and a home health nurse is seeing me daily. i am having some pain on my right side but other than that all is well. I am glad to hear that all went well for you. Also i cant tolerate anything yet except juice and water. But I know it will get better for all of us.
