Hi everyone - welcome home Linda! I am new to this webiste an have been reserching the web about Lap Band surgery. I need to do this! I am so afraid for my health! What's the time frame for scheduling surgery, approval from insurance and hospital stay. Also, how long should you ask for medical leave from work? Thanks everyone! Ellen M. NJ

Congrats and welcome to the other side. That is the world of "Post operative patient". I had my surgery 2/3/04. I am finally feeling normal again. Now the pain I have in my stomach feels like someone punched me several times. It is just sore. My advice take it slow. Do your walking so your body does not get stiff/stagnate. Take your supplements/vitamins. Even the iron (YUCK). Before you know it you will see those numbers drop. I lost 14lbs. That will make it worth while. Good luck.
