Feb 16 my new birthday
I can't believe that it is almost here. Only 4 more days to the start of my new healthy life. I am now considering Feb 16, 2004 as my new birthday.
I am so excited that the time is finally here. Everyone keeps asking me if I am nervous. I'm not, I think it is just because I am so secure that this is the correct thing to do. I have no doubt in my mind that I am doing the right thing that I am not nervous.
way to go Nancy. Me too. I was a bit nervous after the pre-op but I am better today. We will be fine, have a great trip to a better you. You read some sad stories on this board and it can get to you if you let it but I am a true believer that if you have the right state of mind you will surpass the expectations and recover so much faster. We won't waddle in our pain! Have a great day.

I am glad that you said that. I have heard people say that our surgery day becomes the day they are reborn. My new birthday will be Feb 19th. This day holds another special meaning for me. It was also my mom's birthday. She died in 1995 from ill health caused by diabetes. She was 45. When I was looking at the calendar and bills and decided what day would be best to go out on, Feb 19th was the day. I kept looking at and looking at it, then the 19 zoomed in and I realized it would have been my mom's birthday. Maybe she will be watching over me that day.
Good luck, don't forget to walk, walk, walk. And make sure you attend your support group meetings. They are very important.
Beebe,
Well I wish you a Happy Birthday on Feb 19. My Dad passed away a few years ago and I truly believe that he is going thru the process with me and very proud of me. I am counting on him to follow me to surgery and keep me safe. He is who will be walking, walking and walking with me afterwards. Stay positive and keep your Mom with you thru the journey. Somehow I think she had a say in what day you were scheduled for.
