Well, hi everyone it has been a bad week... but it is over with and I am home. Surgery was February 5th. Went in, they got me in right away first patient of the day. Woke up in the recovery room...told them I was feeling sick, tummy was so upset....nurse said No Vanessa there's nothing in your tummy to make you sick. So, I thought I am not swallowing this "foam" anymore, so I turned my head and started spitting it out....she was so shocked....got stuff, was cleaning me up I kept spitting it out as fast as she was wiping, then I vomited and saw it 'fly' over the bedside, and thought oh geez this is it....it was nothing but blood she said page the doctor right away! They told her "Oh he is on his way to his office across town she said, "I DON'T CARE WHERE HE IS PAGE HIM!!!" Then I remeber them telling me ok Vanessa we have to go back in your bleeding from somewhere, I wasn't really with it and said ok. then after being there at 5am got into my room at 4:30 that evening they tell me. It seems that one of the connections came apart? I had to have 2 bags of blood, lost quite a bit they told me. Was very out of it but did get out of bed that night, just to stand. Had a leak test 2 days later only to find out that I had a blockage, and I wanted water SO bad! The blockage was from all the swelling from goin in 2 times in one day, something they expected but didn't tell me, after being in there a week and missing my children so bad I am home sore, but is all goin good now on the right track now. Just want it to continue going this way. Now I going to try to don't know how it will work. Was anyone else real sore and how did you sleep? Any and all help would be appreciated. Just wanted to let everyone know how it went for me. Do have to say I have lost about 18 pounds ~~Vanessa

Vanessa, So glad to hear it is going better. We were all praying for you. I am sure that now that they have all the "kinks" worked out it will be smooth sailing from here on out. Thank God you were still in the hospital when this decided to happen and not already at home. I have not had my surgery yet but if they gave you pain med's to take home those usually will relieve some of the pain and have the added benifit of making you sleepy. Keep us posted on your further recovery. May God bring you the rest you so richly deserve. Blessed Be, Susan

Hi Vanessa, I am sorry to hear about your complications you had after your surgery . I am glad though that you are feeling better and that they fixed the problem. I know you are sore now but soon you will be feeling better. Are you eating anything yet? How long before you can if you are not yet? I am having my surgery on the 23rd and i am very nervous and anxious. Try to relax and think about feeling better soon How long befor you can drive or shower? If you know give me a heads up on it- Thanks! I wish you a Speedy and Smooth Recovery!!! Best Wishes Jill

Hi Jill yes being sore is the only thing now and learning how to sleep, my doctor doesn't recommend a recliner. I have showered since the day after surgery oh yes I am eating...protein shakes, protein jello, cream of wheat, skim milk in that...um...high protein broth, high protein cream soups, I can try low fat cottage cheese and mashed potaoes, but I'm goin slow though I like popsicles! Trying hard to get in all the water did, good today! I keep telling myself and my DH that it will be better tomorrow....every day I feel better...this evening I have felt more like "myself" than I have in a week dunno why It will just keep getting better...and it is.... take care I will say prayers for you to have a problem free surgery and a quick and painless recovery. ~~Vanessa
