HI-I am new to doing this...
HI-I am new to doing this . I have my surgery date for April the 7th at MUSC in Charleston ,SC with Dr. Byrne. I am so afraid that my insurance company will stall and I will go through alot of appeals. If you have any experience with BC/BS ppo of Georgia please let me know how it went . How many people get their surgery date and then have to wait another year to get their insurance to approve? The dr's nurse said that I have enough paperwork for 2 people -they will not summit it until 30 days before the surgery date . As of today. I only have have 59days to go if everything is approved . I cannot wait to be able to ride the rides at the amusement parks and not have my body hurt so much from the extra weight that I carry (260lbs).It is so GREAT to have a place to go where everyone knows how you feel and are looking foward to the same accomplishments . Ya'll have a awesome day!
Hello; I have been waiting since April of 2003, to get the news that everything was finalized and I would be able to have the surgery. I got discouraged, but in my heart I always knew it would happen for me. And it has , in 2 days I will be starting my new life. I will having my Surgery. I am so excited and of course have a few butterflies in my stomach, but all in all it has been one heck of a waitng period.
So, Never ,give up, if you really want this, then make it happen. you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless, Karen
Edie,
I have BCBS of Cal ppo, and I was shocked at how easily and quickly it went through. I think the key is having that pile of paperwork ready for whatever they ask for. I am a bit surprised that they wait til 30 days before though because it does not always go that quickly. I have heard that some insurance companies only give approval for a 30 day window though, so perhaps that is why... At any rate, GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
