SURGERY IS ON 2/16!!! I am so ready!
Hey everyone! It is Thursday and a week from Monday I will have my surgery. I am not posting this to ask a question but to share how I am feeling right about now. I love myself but I do not love the way I look. I do not like the way I feel and I am so over feeling tired and achy all the time. I need this surgery to live longer, only being 37, I will turn this around and I will live a full life. I am blessed that I have a great insurance company, BCBS but I am blessed to have a fantastic and supportive employer who wants me to feel better. Above everything, I am blessed that I have such a special life partner to share this experience with me and to keep pushing me to grow with him. I love life, I want to feel better again. So as time gets closer, I remind myself how I will feel and look. Have a mental picture in your mind at all times of what you want to look like. Finally, just in case, prepare your family and life partner. I had to get several legal documents prepared to give my partner the rights that most of your husbands and wifes have in case you can't make a medical decision. I had to have legal documents drawn up to ensure that he can even come and spend time with me and to share this experience. In essence, life is too short not to let two individuals love each other and to let those two beings have the rights that most share. Good luck and SMILE!!!!!!! It's all good.

HI Craig,
I read your posting and all I can say is Wow. You have such a remarkable sprit. I really enjoyed reading what you had to say. I am having surgery on 2-10-04 (LapBand) and I wish all the luck in the world to both you and your partner. You it is hard on them as well, at least it is for my husband. They just love us so much and they don't want us to hurt. They also know it is better for us if we do this. Take Care, Sandra Hoffman
Craig,
Congratulations and Good Luck. My date is 02/25 and I feel the same way you do. I just turned 39 in Jan. and needed this change to live a longer life and to be able to experience and do things that I am limited by physically. Best of luck to you on your surgery and I hope you and your partner get to share the experience together. Hope to hear from you again.

An Irish Blessing
May those that love us, love us,
and those that don't love us;
May God turn their hearts; if he can't
turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles
so we'll know them by their limping.
