18 days and counting!
Hi everyone!
My surgery is less then 3 weeks away on Feb 17th
(Happy dance! )
It is going by sooooooo fast. .
I was wondering if I can get some advise on what I should stock up on pre-op? Also, what are some of your favorite items that you like that at least have some flavor to it? Any info would be appreciated.
Love to all my WLS sisters and brothers,
Annie
Hi Annie
I am also having surgery on that day. I was told our taste buds might change a bit after surgery. So I only bought samples of protein drinks to try. I also bought carnation instant breakfast (sugar free). Yogurt and apple sauce (again sugar free).. Sugar free popsicles and fudgesicles. I have to stay on liquid or puree for the first month. I'm actually looking forward to it. My toughest part was giving up Diet Pepsi and now I'm trying to give up all carbination but it's soooo hard!!
Good luck on the 17th. Maybe we can keep in touch after and root eachother on...

Hi Annie,
I am excited for you!!! I too am getting very nervous my surgery is 3 weeks away February 23rd! It has been a long process but soon we will be feeling alot better and having fun. I heard alot about the protien drinks and also i will be meeting with a nutritionist a week before my date. Are you getting a nutritionist? It is a good thing to have, i know that i have alot of questions. I will have a hard time too with the soda and carbinated drinks. After all these years of dirinking it is hard to change. Try drinks like Crystal Lite and Tea. Even flavored water is out because it is carbonated.
I wish you the Best on your Surgery and A success!!!!
Good luck in your WLJ!-Jill
Hi! My date is also Feb. 17. Really I am not sure I believe it after all these months of waiting and hoping and praying!! And I thought it would take forever for the time to pass but already a week has gone by!! I also have heard that your tastes will change after surgery. I have a big container of vanilla flavored mix from walmart. It isn't the greatest tasting but it was not very expensive. well, stay strong and thank God for this chance he has given us. Hope to hear how you are doing. God Bless!!!
Hi fellow Feb 17th folks! I am on the 17th too! And, Annie-our doctors are from the same group! Time has been flying by.
Recently I went to the store to stock up as well and one of the main things I did was to calculate the amount of water I need in the first month after surgery and get enough bottled water. I also bought sugar free everything: Jello, pudding mix and a non-carb flavored water. The flavored water I found is from Costco and is called Diet Ice Botanicals. It has no sugar, no carbs no calories. I liked the lime the best!
Good Luck and I look forward to keeping in touch regarding our progress!
