I'VE GOTTEN APPROVED ; SURGERY DATEfFEB 14th 2004

Hey Everyone! I've just gotten approved today Nov 25th 2003. My surgery date is Feb. 14,2004. I do have trouble sleeping/snoring , and it has been suggested to have a sleep study .Both by my PCP and Insurance Company.I'm a chicken. My husband has sleep apnea and I'm afraid if I do I'll have to use a CPAP machine too. Help me be braver. Has anyone been through this and lived to tell about it. Ha Ha Ha . Brenda

I had a sleep study done two weeks ago. I just found out on Monday that I need to go in and have one done with the breathing mask. How awful! I have a friend that wears one and he says it is very beneficial. If you don't use the machine you can get an enlarged heart. I was afraid when I first went there, but after 30 min. of having the wires hooked all over me, it did get better. I felt like a marrionette puppet. I had to have oxygen on my face and a heart detector on my finger. I was afraid to move around. I did end up pulling off the oxygen mask during the night. The place I went was very nice. It was like a motel room. They even had a shower for me to shower before I went to work. IT was pretty weird having a video camera on you all night. I was told that the tape was taped over the next day. It didn't hurt a bit. I"m hoping that I pass the second test so that I don't have to wear the mask. My friend looks like a fighter pilot. HE said that it does help though, so if I need to I'll do it. I'm hoping it comes in other colors besides the pukey brown. Good luck! Dawn Clifton
