Getting Knee Replacement Monday!
Hi,
I had my right knee total replacement last april and now am scheduled to have the left one done Monday!! I am really scared I have lost 200 pounds and feel better, but I don't walk my replace knee still hurts alot and I just have to much pain in the left to keep waiting. I am only 43 and will be bionic lol. I had some problems with the other one but it's a different doctor. My goal is to walk and attend my kids games ect. Not just sit on the couch or bed, I have done so well with weight loss so if I can get my knees good I will be happy.
Wish me luck!!!
Jill,
Of course will wish you luck, plus send many positive thoughts and prayers your way. You are going to do GREAT!!!!! Here's some mantras that helped me before surgery:
When I release my fears, I'm set free.
What would I do if I weren't afraid?
Focus on the positives of the surgery and all the benefits it will bring you. Don't dwell on your fears, but definitely talk them out if you need to.
You are going to be an active parent very, very soon. Your weight loss is AWESOME!!!!

Mary,
Thanks for your thoughts I have been doing ok, it's been 2 weeks and just now have been able to sit at the computer for a few minutes. I am doing ok have alot of pain taking pain meds and blood thinner. I am doing physical threapy twice a week and it is hard! They make me do things that bring me to tears from the pain..
Again Thanks and how are you doing?
Jill,
Sending you many hugs and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. I'm sorry to hear you are in such pain. It should ease soon.
Isn't physical therapy something else!!!!!! Althought beneficial it is amazing what they expect people to do. I had it for my foot years ago. Oh my gosh. I remember having to wear an ice boot one day before the therapy because of swelling. It was so cold and painful to have on and no way could I get it off early.
I'm doing good. Enjoying the pool and just keeping busy. Trying hard to do more high protein/low carb eating.
Post when you feel up to it, but remember you are in our thoughts.
Hugs,
Mary
