In need of a REVISION
Lee,
Before I had surgery, exercise totally eluded me. It was too painful, I was too tired, not motivated etc. Since I HAD TO lose weight before the surgery, I knew I had to do something AND any movement was better than no movement at all. Here's what I did:
I always found time to watch TV. I told myself that if I was going to watch TV that the only way I could do it was when the commercials came on I had to get up and dance. The first 60 second commercial about did me in. But over time, it became fun and I found that I could dance (any type of movement OK, just get moving) longer and longer till I was doing it thru the whole show. When my niece came to visit that summer, she and I both danced during the commercials. We were doing Weigh****chers together at the time and she loved the dancing part. She lost 10 lbs that month.
Do you have a Curves close by you? They allow you to sign up for a month by month membership (at least at ours). It only takes 30 minutes and is an easy exercise program with lots of healthy benefits. I really l like Curves.
Is there some form of exercise that apeals to you? Do you like to swim, walk, ride a bike, work out????? Right after surgery, my surgeon would only allow walking. So each day we drove to the mall and walked laps. After I got my laps in then I could go into the stores not before. Now I walk the dog to the local park most days. ON the weekends we always seem to go somewhere that we can walk (mall, zoo, science center, botanical gardens etc.). I have a really good stationery exercise bike that I enjoy riding too.
Thanks for the info on the weight loss. Are you eating the quantity of food (point wise) that they recommend? Weigh****chers has always had a good/sound program. I'm familar with Dottie's site. I will have to check it out again.
