Topic: 2`years whooo hoo
Has it been 2 years already ?
my life has changed forever, I am healthy and happy again. I spend my days with my kids, hubby and family.
I have had some health issues come up after surgery, but even after gall bladder surgury and everything else. it was still worth every minute of it.
I watch what I eat and what I do........enjoy life to the fullest
I went from a size 24 plus down to a size 4
size doesnt matter but it sure has been easier on my hips, knees and back to have lost all this weight.
good luck to everyone
the only real pain I have now is a stomach ache now and then, not sure if it's something I am eating or what.
I have had gall bladder surgury and things are better since that.
Topic: RE: please take your vitamins or else....
I must agree with you. I , however took the vitamins and the iron...but the iron caused more problems for me than it helped. I too, was about to get a blood transfusion 2 weeks ago because my hemoglobin was 7.8...too low....that's from iron deficiency...so, instead, I went to a hematologist and he gave me an iron infusion! Now I feel better than I ever have! My hemoglobin is up to 10.9...with 12-16 being normal....what a difference the iron has made for me. Unreal.....take care all...Jami

Topic: RE: i need some advice
Hi Cristy! This is Laura. I also had surgery in February 2003. My new birthday on Feb. 27, 2003. I would do it all over in a heartbeat. It really made it worth the world when my 7 year old daughter told all her friends that she had a skinny mommy now and that I am able to play with her. I also am able to play baseball and football with my 11 year old son. My sister also had the surgery in August 2002. We both now weigh the same.
I am very thankful that the good Lord above also saw me through it. The good far outweighs the bad. I still have bad days but those are becoming less and less. I now know how to better deal with them. I have a great network of post-op friends who I can seek advice. If I can answer any questions, email me.
Topic: RE: i need some advice
Hi Cristy, I had surgery 2/2003 also and I was scared up until the day of the surgery. Although I was scared, I knew that it was a strong possibility of me being healthier. Once my Pastor and his wife came into the room just minutes before surgery and prayed for me, I knew that everything would be ok and I wasn't afraid anymore. Maybe if you explain to him how much healthier he would be and how much longer he would live, he may reconsider.
Topic: i need some advice
i had surgery 2/2003 ive lost 140 lbs (i got pregnant within 2 months of surgery, I know such a no no but soooo much worth it for me). My problem is my husband is severly obese but he is to scared to have surgery. I really dont know what to do to help him lose weight. I know it is his decision completely i dont want to push him but if i could have him see that other people are scared as well maybe he would think about it more. He really wants to have surgery but he is too scared at this point. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Topic: RE: Not doing so well
OP here: Thank you all for your support. I'm still struggling, but I've managed to stop the weight gain. My low was 129 and I had gotten up to 140. Now I can usually keep it around 136 to 138. I am eating for comfort but trying to learn to substitute other activites. My husband just got a new job and is away for 14 hours a day for training in another city, and we will be moving in October to a different city. I'm in charge of finding a place to live and packing, etc. My first instinct is to hide in my house (I used to be agoraphobic) and, hence no exercise. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks so much!
Heidi

Don't give up. Just remeber what you have done. I do understand because I have lost 170 pounds since 2/2003 and I've noticed I can eat more but I also remember what I have been through. I am going to talk to a sugeron about plastic surgeon.Pray and I wish you the best.
