AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO LOSE 130 MORE POUNDS..I WAS 386LBS BEFORE MY SURGERY ON FEB 26TH OF THIS YEAR.. AND NOW I AM DOWN TO 278LBS... WENT FROM SIZE 32 TO SIZE 24 IN PANTS/SKIRTS.. AND SIZE 30 TO 18/20 IN TOPS IN SIX MONTHS.... IT VERY EXCITING.... I DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH FOODS.. I HAVE LEARN 3 TIMES TO STOP WHEN U FULL... IT HORRIBEL FEELING WHEN U EAT TOO MUCH.. I had my surgery Feb. 17, 2003. I have lost 79 lbs. so far and like some of you I wi**** were more. But I know that by the time one year is up I should have no problem being at goal, which is 100 lbs. lost. I am 41 years old and I exercise 4-5 times a week on the eliptical(5 miles) and some strength training also. It is true that the amount of total weight you have to lose will regulate how much you lose in the first few months. Mine has also slowed down quite a bit, I am now only losing about 10 lbs. per month. But I am satisfied with that. You have to slow down sometime or you will just whither away.

Topic: Post Op 6 months/Feeling Great!
I have been reborn in a sense..........
I now have my health back! I'm off all medications, since surgery 6 months ago.
Life is wonderful and a joy once more. I walk 2-3 miles every morning (7 days a week)bike another 2-4 miles. I do water aerobics 3-4 times a week and swim 30-45 minutes before water aerobics. Just try slowing me down....LOL
I've gone from 24/26's to 10/12's in 5 months time. I've gone from not being able to tie my shoes, without being out of breath to now walking/jogging/etc.
My health was my main objective and I would not stop till I regained it!
This procedure was so easy...... for me, anyway! No pain, no problems. I was truly blessed and lucky.
I've lost 85 pounds in 6 months and have 20 till goal. I will reach the Century Club in another 15 pounds, hopefully by my 9th month. 5'4" ***250/160/140
I had a wonderful Dr. and I have made every support meeting. These are so important!
I'm mostly proud of myself! I was positive about having Lap RNY and have had that positive outlook with my exercicing program, as well. I'm determined not to just loose weight. I want to be the healthiest I can be.
I feel better at 53 than I did in my 20/30's.
I pray for everyone waiting or have had surgery be as satisfied and healthy as I am now.
Good Luck & God Bless You All!

I agree that you don't realize the huge impact it has on the people around you. My husband keeps telling everyone that he can't find me in bed anymore because I have shrunk so much, lost 110 pounds Open RNY 2/11/03. He keeps telling me that I have lost enough weight already. I can't figure out if he is nervous about my health or insecure. I keep telling him that I am feeling great and that I Love Him for going through this with me.
Topic: RE: Need new clothes
Jeff, I usually only lurk on this message board as I 'technically' had my surgery in January (31st), but I just loved the lasagne with cabbage idea and wanted to thank you for sharing, I'm going to try it...hopefully the hubby and kids will like it too. Congrats on your weight loss. You HOPE you make it to 195, that's just around the corner, you'll make it. I can relate to the no clothes thing...well kind of. I have always kept an 'outgrown' box around. But as of now, I have no clothes for fall and all of the summer things I did have are getting too big...and I almost hate to start shopping now being that I'm still losing 2-3 pounds a week. Oh, the burdens of losing weight! lol. Well, thanks again for the idea!
Topic: Need new clothes
Since my release from the hospital March 17th I have gone from 288 down to 210 as of today. My problem is I have no clothes that fit me. I eat whatever I want. But I don't desire food that much. I take prescription vitamins plus extra E and C. Found a new way too make lasagna by using cabbage instead of noodles. I've been told that I look to be in my 40s now even though I am 58. I have lost 7 inches around my waste. Found an old pair of Dockers the other day that I wore back in 1995. They fit and they are size 38. I hope to continue to drop til I reach my desired weight of 195. I have a lot of very expensive suites and sports clothes that just don't fit me any more. I have not been to any of those meetings. I live in Metro West and they are all to far from me. It sure would be nice to have a friend who has the same likes and dislikes as me that has gone through this procedure.
