Hello I am 9mths out also and lost almost 100 lbs; Having trouble working out w/ my hernia; which is in my midsection; I hope to have it fixed in Jan or Feb; Do you know what to expect w/ the hernia repair? I am mad I have it but know it is one step closer to my goal wt and inches lost; I want to look thin as i feel!! I hope by next Christmas to be at goal weight; I also have trouble w/ lightheaded ( dehydration I beleive) and have to drink alot of water to keep hydrated.. How about you? I workout on my gazelle and do upper wt training;; Not enough walking but working on it.. Lynda in NJ; my surgery was in UNDERWOOD HOSPITAL in Feb.. i will pray for you and hubby.

Topic: 9 months post-op on the 11th!
I am so happy that I'm getting closer to my 1st anniversary from WLS. I'm down 120 lbs. so far, I was hoping to loose around 200 lbs before my yr. was up, which would means I will have to loose 81 more lbs in 3 months. I thinks that will be IMPOSSIBLE. But I am very happy with how my weight is coming off. God bless you all in this journey!

Jody, Don't be discouraged. My surgery was Feb. 26, 03 and I finally made it to the 100 lb. mark. I thought I was gonna be stuck on 94 forever, Oct. 6 I only lost 94 lbs. Then today I stepped on the scale and if I could have done a cartwheel, I would have!! The scale finally moved. I started out at 415 and am now 314. I never thought that I would ever see 350 let alone 314. I was starting to get a lil' depressed cause I wasn't losing and others were. Our bodies work at different rates and I want to be skinny YESTERDAY!! Take care...Karen

I am almost at one year post op. It is Nov.3 and I had surgery Feb.20 I was 340, now I am at 255--thats about 85 pounds. I notice many people are at or over 100 pound loss by now, what gives? Jody

Topic: saggy skin
I had my gastric bypass Feb.20,2003 so far I have only lost 85 pounds, which seems a lot less than average. However, i feel great and look so much better. How does one go about starting the process of plastic surgery for the saggy belly and arms? what does insurance cover? Jody in Ohio
