I am a little late to the game but I just found this group. I am supposed to have RNY on Jan. 3rd. I am a little nervous because I came down with strep on Monday and am on a 3 day Zpac. My last dose will be in the day before surgery. I am so worried that they are going to reschedule! Anyway, I have already started my clear liquid diet and have lost 12 lbs in 3 days!!! Look forward to seeing everyone's successes!
I am scheduled for RNY on 01/03/13 too! I came down with strep throat on Monday and am on a 3 day Zpac so I am hoping the surgery is not moved back! Good luck!
Oops.....having a problem with this keyboard!!!! The vitamins should not be a problem..
I am reading through these posts.....this one certainly has a lot of them! I am scheduled for revision from band to DS on 1/24... So I am right with you guys:) just want to put it out there... Just remember a lot of chapsticks have petroleum which is a no no if you are going to be a patient with oxygen needs. As an RN, we have to tell families to bring that stuff back home....and make sure your doc and nurses know if you bring your home meds and vitamins....usually the fits are no problem....especially the bariatric ones. The other OTC ones and prescriptions are another no no to bring...that will all be apart of your med list in the hospital your doc will already have for you. My suggestion is....talk to your doc and nurses during pre op appt.

I have been searching the board to find January people over her. I found Four people for the 23 getting VSG's.
These are the 45 January surgeries I found here, on the revision boards and VGS board. There use to be a way to search this info out but can't find it now.

Looks like you will be the last surgery of the month. I too am so excited. I start my liquid diet on Jan 7th

I didn't have to do Optifast but, a shake (wonderslim)that the supervised diets use and put their names on like medical weight loss and our's, BetterMD. So it is Shakes only for 2/3 weeks. When I had the band, I cheated once. I chewed on some grilled chicken breast but felt so guilty, I spit out the "fiber".
This time out info for the liquid diet I start on the 7th says we will be tested the day of surgery and if we fail-no operation. Not sure how the test for compliance.
