I use a baby sippy cup, cause if I didn't, I don't know how many more I could get down. I had heard about that from the dietitian, so if some is really struggling like I was it will help.

Mine was a week pre-op liquid diet. I could have sugar free jello, juice, milk, protein shakes, water, soda, broth, soups(tomato). Even though, they wanted me to cut out soda. I was hooked on diet dr. pepper. I had my last 2 the day before surgery. Oh, sad, even though I know it wasn't good for me. I started the first day doing protein shakes for each meal. The second day I found to be the hardest. That was when I really experienced the hunger. I bought sugar free jello and snacked on that, oranges, protein shakes. But, didn't eat the oranges, just sucked the juice out of them. I know, weird. My protein shake is just 8 oz of skim milk with a scoop of protein powder. The protein is called Cryo Sport 100% Whey Protein from Costco. It seems to be the one I liked the most. 27g of protein and 3 g of carbs per 8oz serving. After the 2nd and 3rd day it seemed to get easier. But, it was strange to actually follow something. I have tried liquid diets before. And never followed them. I think it was partly the excitement of a new life that I was venturing into. Best of luck everyone. I think I just started to ramble, ha ha

I start a liquid pre-op diet on Tuesday which consists of up to 2 servings of skim milk three times per day along with water and other sugar free non carbonated beverages.   I only have to be on it until the Monday after which is then the day before surgery so it's clear liquids for some odd hours before it's nothing up until after surgery.

So, I'm getting double the calories.  I get all the milk plus the shake mike.  The diet is ~1000 calories, 120g protein and 100g carbs.  This is way to may carbs for me to lose on.  They say I have to lose 10-15 pound during the two weeks if I don't cheat.  Last time on it I gained 14 and didn't cheat at all.

I am on a two week liquid diet. Mostly clear liquids but I am allowed to have greek yogurt and sugar free jello and pudding. I have to eat no more than 600-1000 cals per day and have at least 60-80 grams of protein. I have been on it since the 1st and I am proud to say that I have not cheated although I have really wanted too. The only thing I am really struggling with is not having anything to chew! I want to chew something. My surgery is on the 14th and I am ready for it but I am nervous.

Your's is 100X more flexible than ours.  But, they are letting us have 2cups celery a day to chew on.  (they didn't let us have this back when I was banded sure helps)

Your doing great!

Started my pre surgery liquid diet yesterday...I can have 4 to 5 no sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfasts a day. If I only have 4 I can substitute the 5th one for a low fat SF yogurt (without fruit in it), a SF pudding cup, or 1 cup of creamed soup (with no chunks in it). Day before surgery (which is this coming Monday its ALL clear liquids I can have all the jello, sugar free popcicles (nothing red though) and beef or chicken broth. So far the first 2 days have been a breeze. I always have a bottle of water close by to sip on. I think that is part of what is helping me to have that full feeling. I did have to call my surgeons office today, because since I started liquids yesterday my jaw muscles are kind of achy...The nurse said it was most likely because I have not been using those muscles to chew anything. I really haven't even thought about "real" food. I actually saw a commercial yesterday for the McRib sandwich and my stomach did a flip flop (not the hungry kind either). Since today was garbage day, last night I pretty much emptied the fridge and freezer with the exception of the things that my DH eats. He has irritable bowel so he is ona special diet, and I don't like to foods he eats. Now I have no temptations in the house. We got rid of all the sweets over the weekend, and the only kind of snacky type things we have now are pretzel rods and I don't eat them because they hurt my mouth, so no worries about me trying to eat those....I am doing this by the book I have been waiting over a year for this (I currently have the band but have had MANY complications with it) and I am revising to bypass. I don't want anything to get  in the way of me having surgery, so therefore I am following the instructions to the letter. I do have one worry..when they did my pre surgery blood work up they found I had a UTI (didn't have any symptoms) and because of that my WBC count was elevated. I was put on Cipro 500 mg twice a day for 3 days. I went yesteday and had it rechecked. It's still slightly elevated so I am back on antibiotics until Thursday. I am freaking out and praying that is continues to go down..I don't want to have to wait again to have surgery scheduled...

Sounds Like you are doing great with your diet.  Hope all goes well with the UTI and that surgery is a go!

I started my pre-op diet yesterday, yesterday was easy sailing, today not so much.  I'm allowed 3 protein shakes, any type as long as its:90-50 calories per serving, 13-25 g of protein, and no more than 5 g of carbs or fat. Also, 1 cup of non- starchy vegetables, 1 cup of skim or 1% milk, 8 oz of light yogurt, or 1/2 cup reduced fat cottage cheese, limited to 3 servings/day. Drink 64 oz of water and may consume these between meals: water, decaf tea/coffee, crystal light, clear broth, sugar free gelatin, Powerade 0, and sugar free Popsicles.  Because I don't eat yogurt/ cottage cheese and was afraid of starving to death, my rd added 2oz chicken/tuna,  and eggs, also limited to 3 servings/day.

I am sooo hungry, i think because i didn't get much water in. , I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow!

I'm on day three of my shake only diet.  I would kill to have yours.  Cottage cheese, yogurt, chicken tuna and eggs.  At this point I think I might kill for these.
