I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Michelle and I am scheduled to have a sleeve done on Jan 30th. I am very excited/ nervous! I am on day two of my low cal/ high protein fast and things are going really good. I am thankful its not all just liquid like I thought it would be. If anyone can offer advice and encouragement I would love it!!

Good luck to you! You'll do just fine and like they say, once you start losing the weight it will all be worth it!

Blessings to you - sending lots of positive healing thoughts. By now you're probably on the losing side and beginning your new life. Hope you'll be checking back in and let us know how you're doing.

Topic: Having a revision on Jan. 21
I had my original RNY in July, 2004. I lost lots of weight but in the past couple of years and especially in the past six months, I have found I can eat anything and everything. Long story short, it looks like the stoma into the intestine has closed up and a there is now a fistula into the old stomach. I've gained about 70 lbs. in the last year or so. So, I got insurance approval to get the revision.
Of course I'm anxious about it - the first time around I had quite a few complications; ulcer and a stricture, but I think it will be better this time as it will be a laprascopic procedure instead of open.
Anyway, looking forward to getting back on the losing side, and wishing all the other January 'babies' good luck!

My VSG is on the 19th and I am SO not looking forward to the gas! What are you able to take for it, if anything??
