New to this site, need weight loss support
I have has a gastric sleeve on 1/10/2012. For the first seven weeks the weight appeared to fall off effortlessly. I have leveled out going into the eighth week, and maybe put a couple on. I don't think I am eating a lot, but am scared that I am gonna go back to where I came from. Has anyone else has a weight loss stoppage, how do you get back on track? Thanks any and all help is appreciatted. I know it was bariactric surgery, not brain surgery so my mind needs help also to feel good and keep going.

I was similar to you. Although for me, it seemed that the first 4 weeks, i dropped about 30 pounds. Then i stopped. For a long long time. Recently i've begun losing again, which is great, but that stall was really frustrating. For me waht helped the most i think was making sure i was getting my protein in, and going to the gym regularly. Yeah, it's hard to start, and i think the worst part is getting to the gym. Once i'm there, it's really not so bad. i walk on the treadmill a bit- maybe 3/4ths to a mile, and then i do some weights.
I switch up what i do with the weights. Sometimes i'm doing back, sometiems it's arms, sometimes its legs. Every time i do something different, so i keep myself engaged.
It will drop again. My doctor said that no matter what i did, i would lose. That's the point of the surgery. The malabsorbtion alone will cause you to lose, so you will get there. The more you can do to help - exercize - will assist. So just make sure you get to moving! And it does get fun. The more you work out, the easier it gets. Trust me... i started at 380... and was in the gym at that weight. I didn't go fast, or lift much at all, but i could do it. So can you.
