SO thankful that this is normal! I thought to myself, "what was the point of getting this surgery if I'm just going to stop where I am?" PHEW!

hey! had my surgery the same day. So far, since Jan 1 (start of my liquid diet), I'm down 24.5 lbs.
The hardest part for me right now is cooking two meals, one for me, and one for my hubby and the kids (10 mo, 3 yr, 9 yr). And then watching them eat it. Also, I have a scale addiction...I just NEED to get on the scale every morning, and then I get down when I don't see the numbers moving Last week, I only lost .5 but i think It's because I was a little dehydrated before hand, and I finally started getting my waters in.

I had my surgery on 1/11/11. I dropped 12 pounds in about 5 days. However, in the last 2 days I haven't lost any. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

I haven't dumped on anything yet, but I haven't tried too much other than jello and the protein shakes. I'm so scared of dumping! I tried a little bit of mashed potatoes last night and that went down well. Good luck Teri! I also had my surgery on 1/11/11!

Since it took them most of the month to finally get this board up, a bunch of us have been congregating over here -- http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/Jansleeves/ Feel free to join.
I already had my surgery (on the 3rd) but am still pretty active there. It's a good group of people.

I'm a week further out, and STILL struggling to get my water in! I'm eating 2oz protein per meal, trying to get a protein shake in every day (which I need to do until I get up to 3 oz protein per meal), and yesterday was the first day that I got my full 64oz water. My doctors aren't concerned, either - they expected me to be working towards it the first couple of weeks (I thought I was supposed to be able to do it, and I felt awful having not!).
I use a 32oz water bottle, which keeps me from having to write it down - just fill in the morning and again during the day. Then, when I wanted to make Crystal light yesterday, I used 20oz water from that bottle. I find that MUCH easier than keeping track.
Just this week am I finding that I can drink more than 2 sips at a time, and can I get in 2oz of food consistently. I'm also starting to get my energy back. For those of you only a week out - it does get better, and soon! The first week home was just about the worse time in my life - I was sore, exhausted, and completely miserable. Last week was better, and this week I'm back to work, participating in my normal activities (took my daughter to museums on Friday and Monday, volunteering at her play rehearsal tonight, meeting for local political campaign tomorrow), and I feel much more like myself.

I actually have been a little depressed about this for the last couple of days. I have been able to add a few more items to my diet, but I just feel sooo full after eating a few bites of anything. It's definately head hunger. I am really not hungry at all. I guess being down 21 pounds puts a positive spin on the whole thing.
