I had my surgery on 1/11/11. I dropped 12 pounds in about 5 days. However, in the last 2 days I haven't lost any. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

They say a couple of days afterwards our bodies need to catch up to the fact that we got sugery. Give it a few days it will start up again.

Hey ! My surgery was Jan 5 th and I plateaued as well at about post op day 6 for about 7 days!  I have read a lot of forums where people say this is very common and can last up to 2 weeks then you just start loosing again! dont be discouraged! keep up the good work!

SO thankful that this is normal! I thought to myself, "what was the point of getting this surgery if I'm just going to stop where I am?" PHEW!

I had my surgery on the 13th. The exact same thing happened to me. So, I removed the scale from my house. Drastic I know, but sometimes that scale can make or break your day.
Good Luck Girl. I need some friends here, so request me if you like.
Take care.

I think it's the same for many of us... the plateau lasts even longer if you're not able to get all your protein and liquids in.

Did your weight loss start again? And how much have you lost?

I have started to lose again. The plateau lasted about 3 days or so. I have lost 7 pounds since then. I'm currently done to 205.4, which is 21.2 pounds lost total! And Tuesday is my 3 week anniversary. I haven't lost anything from yesterday to today (probably not the best to weigh everyday, but it keeps me motivated), but I'm much less freaked out now.

My husband had his surgery on the 16th of Dec, he only weighs on Sundays & Weds and that's it. It keeps him from seeing the daily ups & downs.

Both of us are LW's who have a DS.
