I was going to reply too but then I see we have the same surgeon....
Any luck finding the powdered egg whites? The ones I found didn't match the protein that the nutritionist said it would, so I'm not sure if I found the right stuff.

Congratulations Amy! I am so happy for you! Mine is on the 20th so we will be buddy's! This is my first surgery too! I am excited, and worried but I think that is normal for everyone!
Do you have a special diet that you have to do before the surgery. I have a 2 week high protein diet that I have to follow! Talk with you soon! :)

My surgeon does not want us drinking protein drinks. he wants our protein intake to be from food and doesn't want us drinking our calories. I have bought things like powdered egg whites and powdered milk to supplement for added protein. my surgery is on tuesday so i haven't had to implement it yet!

I am getting more and more excited my surgery is the 7th of January. I was just curious if anyone has had surgery in Germany or maybe lives in Germany not exactly sure where to post this question? Is anyone else having surgery on that day??

Congrats! I am having a VSG on 1/19/10. I am also self pay. Just makes it that much more of an incentive.

I am getting a VSG and Protein shakes are part of my surgeon's plan both Pre-Op and Post Op. I have been sampling some from Unjury and Nectar (both very yummy). www.unjury.com www.vitalady.com. Its an easier way to get your protein in after surgery or on the pre-op diet.
So far I have liked all the Unjury (especially like teh plain since you can add it to any flavor Crystal Light)
On Nectar loved the Lemon Tea, Fuzzy Navel smelled funny but tasted good, still working through the other flavors, I'll post more as I taste them.
