Topic: RE: Where's all my 1/4/2010 girls at?
My surgery went great, and have had no pain/sickness, etc., but I had a rough day (day 4) with emotion - all over the place - feeling weepy, feelings hurt, missing food, etc. I think the worst is just missing the chewing! I'm still on liquids for another week, so I am completely ENVIOUS of you girls and your pureed foods! Thank goodness for SF popsicles! I can get a little "crunch"!
Topic: 5 more days! Gulp!
Well, it is the 5 day countdown, my surgery is the morning of the 15th. Two more days of low fat soups and then its clear liquids for two days. This 14 day liquid diet is the pits. Supposedly, it is to shrink my liver which makes it easier for the surgeon to move stuff around inside of me. Tonight was difficult, my boyfriend wanted to stop for my favorite pizza but I told him no way!
I am grumpy. I do have to say that I have a ton of energy. I took about 15 trashbags out of the extra room full of paper (getting rid of my paperwork for my masters thesis, etc.)
All I can say is that Friday cannot get here soon enough!

Hello, Our surgeries are exactly 1 week apart and I wanted say Congratulations and wish you a very successful surgery. I have gotten Unjury unflavored and chicken soup Protein, campbells soup which I will strain out the noodles, Birthday cake whey protein isolate by SDC, and crystal light. I also ordered sun crystals samples to see if I like them. They are a sugar substitute similar to splenda that has gotten great reviews. I have protein shaker bottles my angel told me about on the way. They have a metal mixing ball inside to mix your protein drinks well. Take Care and keep us posted on your progress! ~lacey

Sharon, that's great! I am so happy you are under 200 so quickly. That's got to keep you motivated. Best wishes on a continued successful recovery. I will be joining you with sleeping on the recliner really soon! Take care.

I am in the same boat you guys are in! I hope the next week and half goes by fast. I have so much house work to get done. My mom is coming up for a whole week so I am doing some rearranging of bedrooms, and putting up bunk-beds, switch cloths out for my youngest. He keeps growing, errr! There is so much to do, so little time.
Here are some of the things that I have heard is recommended for the hospital stay.
-Chap stick
-Your own pillow
-computer (maybe?)
-pads/tampons (some say they started their period because of the surgery)
-Shampoo/Conditioner, body wash
-deodarate
I hope that is it. Not sure, if there is anything you would like to bring. My doc does not have me on protein shakes, and vitamins until one week post-op. If anyone else can add to this that would be great!

I couldn't sleep today, got up so early, I seem so wired, and ready to go. Nerves are kicking, but I'm trying to keep busy and not think about it.

Good luck to you. My surgery is the day after yours. woohoo. When I asked what I needed to bring they just told me the basic essentials to make yourself comfortable. You know hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, chapstick...stuff like that. Oh and of course your comfy loose clothes to go home.
I can't wait for the next week and a half to go by. Soooo close.
