Topic: RE: Surgery is on Jan 22, hurry up!!!
I feel your pain!!!  I am also struggling through the diet.  I think it is more of a mental game then anything else.  My surgery is also on the 22nd.  It can't get here fast enough, but then again I wish time would slow down a bit.  I have been battling some doubts as of late but I will assume this is normal and just go for it! Good luck and keep us posted

Topic: RE: 10 Days until my RE-Birthday!!!
We will share a re-birthday!

I am more than an emotional mess. Glitch with insurance.. I think I'm okay but waiting for next week to be sure... Looks like Insurance messed up with what is covered this year. HR says I'm covered and will work with the rep but if my emotions weren't raw before, they were yesterday. Today is better but I carbed up.. comfort food !!! Dr. Needs me on special low carb starting tuesday but I was to have started this week. I'm not doing quite so good, but I keep trying.. Come Monday I am not cheating, backing down or anything!!!!!  Unless they refuse to do the surgery I will be ready...(I don't see that happening!)

I really want this second chance at a normal life. It is good to hear that someone else this close is as nervous and excited as I am...

I here you Jay! I never realized how sore and acky I am with this weight on me! I am tired, no motivation (because it is to much effort some days).  I just can't wait to feel confortable in jeans again.  Good luck with your surgery, it is 5 days after mine!

It's so interesting how trapped Ive felt with the extra weight.  My surgery is next Monday, and Im already planning things that to most people would sound silly.  But I can not wait to go to a water park, an amusement park, fly on an airplane comfortably and go to a baseball game.  I am going to also plan a cruise for my one year anniversary ...Im so excited for everyone!!  Its going to be a great new life for all of us!

It's gonna be great girl! And you know what? You're right, if they aren't ok with it and 100% supportive then who needs them. Pretty soon it's not going to be a matter of the fat friend or the skinny friend, it's just gonna be "friend". Good luck. I'm a day behind ya. Woohoo.

Having this surgery is really easy.  You'll be wheeled into the operating room where everyone will welcome you and smile, move you easily from the stretcher to a table, and within a very short time the friendly anesthesia person will place a mask over your mouth and ask you to take some deep breaths - you won't even notice this except for a few seconds.  The next thing you know you'll be moving along on a stretcher to your bed.  The anesthesia experience is actually very nice - no memories, no pain, you get to sleep through the whole thing.  The post op first and second days are the work and it's still not "bad", just work.  Focus on what your nut has taught you - you are the expert now, knowing you only need to drink a little, little bit (one ounce or so) at a time, and you don't have to get up to those really high goals of fluids and proteins those first few days.  I found I knew better than a few of the nurses who cared for all post ops, not just WLS patients
I have every confidence that nothing bad will happen.  Take care of yourself, get plenty of rest and fluids in the next 48 hours.

You'll be in my prayers, and remember me in yours since we'll be taking this journey together!!  Though I'm not stressing the surgery I am stressing the hospital as I absolutely HATE hospitals.  We will both be fine and meeting each other on the losers bench soon though and be happier for it!   Here's to us -
