Topic: RE: JAN 4TH, 3 MORE DAYS!
Hi all. My surgery was also on the 4th... at 7:30 AM!!!  I was just wondering how you were all doing!

I have lost almost 30 lbs and have good days and bad. I have not yet reached that stage where I can say I am happy I have done this... I know that day will come, but it's not here yet!

I look forward to hearing how you are all doing!

Hey....I have been on the Main Board a lot. I am doing fine. No  vomitting or anything else. I don't feel swollen anymore. I have a little pain on the left side if I move the wrong way, but that's it. Anything food not agreeing with you? I have tried scrambled egg whites and then a scrambled egg and both times I felt queasy afterwards. I had egg salad and felt fine. Weird, huh? I think I may have eaten the scrambled eggs too fast or something but I am afraid to try them again :)

Doing something every January is a great idea......cruise, Disney....whatever sounds good.

Hope you are doing well.

My surgery is on the 25th as well, I have been on liquid diet since the 17th- and the first 4 days were hell!!!  I am drinking the sugar free carnation instant breakfast which doesn't have a bad taste- but I am so tired of it now!!  I tried to do broths but they are gross too!!  I took my pre-op pics last night and let me tell you they will keep my inspired to lose and to never look like that again!!!!Good luck on Monday!!!

Topic: RE: RNY tomorrow! How are other January post-ops doing?
Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes  The RNY went fine.  I was in the hospital for 2 nights and just came home this afternoon.  I was only nauseated a couple of times; other than that, the only issues have been incredible gas rumbling around in my belly and being really swollen.  Hopefully that will go away shortly.  Having a few regrets but I know it's only because I don't feel very good.  I know when this gas goes away and I feel more like myself that I will be very happy about it.  I was so calm and peaceful going into surgery, so I'm looking deep to find that peace again.

Take care,
Barbara

Hey, all!  Depending on where everyone lives - cruises are pretty easy, I would think...just a little pricey, depending on where and how long you want to go.  (DH and I are huge cruisers).  The other idea is we could do a long weekend in Disney World or Disney Land.... there's lots to do and it would be so much fun..... riding roller coasters, sight seeing, etc.  What does everyone else think?

I had my surgery (VBG with sleeve) on January 14th. The hospital staff was amazing! The most pain I experienced was from staying in the same position for so long. I insisted that I be moved or walk about 6 hours after entering my room.  It was so unbearable.  Like everyone else said, walking will help a lot.  I'm still recovering and experience a little stomach pain, but experienced no nausea :-) Good luck with your recovery.

Topic: RE: Isopur, anyone tried it?
I've had a few flavors of the isopure.  I thought they weren't too bad. WHen I was on my pre-op diet, they  filled me up a bit.

Good luck to you.  YOU CAN DO IT !!!!!!

Hi, I'm also getting my surgery done on the 25th. My doctor put me on  clear liquids as well. Today I had a case of self doubt and apprehension. I'm getting a little more nervous as the day nears. Are you having any of those feelings. Good luck with your surgery.
