Anything you can tolerate but remember that your tummy will be sensitive for a week or two!

Just think of how great it will be to watch the scale when the swelling goes down! :)
How are you getting your protein? Broth? If there's another way, please share!!

Surgery went great!
Had a tough time getting liquids in; possibly because they started me out with a dose of liquid pain medication? Seemed to really set my system off in a whirl. Fever in hospital on nights 2 and 3. I honestly think I could have/would have done a lot better with a more tolerable roommate (details on that fiasco later).
Anyway, home now! I have a treadmill here but the lowest incline is pretty steep so it's been difficult to get going on it. The streets are covered with ice, so did my walking in the grocery store today. (Is that weird?)
Still having a bit of trouble getting liquids in, but working on increasing slowly. Can we spice up our broth with cayenne pepper?

I came home from the hospital today and everyone has finally left the house. I can tell that I am feeling better every day and even met my protein goal... is that normal? Anyways, I will say that I am a little dismayed that I came out 17 pounds heaver then when I went in!!!! I am very swollen!
Peace!

Thanks! And CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ON YOUR SURGERY THURSDAY! You'll do just fine. Trust me the time will fly by. I had to be at the hospital 2 hrs early and was afraid the waiting would get me nervous. Before I knew it, the surgery was over. SERIOUSLY. I remember going into the OR, they scraped my arms down. I remember thinking this is 'IT'. Then waking up. All will be WELL! Best wishes to you, lots or prayers and positivity coming your way from me. Please let us know when you are safely through, when you can. HUGS!

Celia, thank you! I know you will be just fine on Monday. I'm wishing you a very successful and uneventful surgery. As soon as possible, walk. The first time is rough, but every time after, it gets easier. Practice sipping, you'll miss the IV fluids and will need to have built up your tolerence. I still can't get it all in but I'm trying so hard to, because I can tell when I don't hit mark. Be strong and brave and remember we are all here for you!
