I'm exhausted. Returned to work a week after surgery, and by afternoons I want to crawl into a corner and collapse!
Topic: are you tired? back to work has me worried...
I'm nearly 3 weeks out and start work on Monday. I've been feeling great but....it seems like I get really tired by midday. I'm hoping my energy level picks up soon because going back to work is going to require more energy than this! Anyone feeling a little tired?

Welcome to the group. I am now a whole two weeks post op. Sometimes I don't know if this is working as my brain still thinks as I have always thought. The best thing is that I get full very fast. I went to a cafe today.....had fish, potatoes and green beans. I ate most of the fish, a few of the green beans and a few bites of potatoes. It looked like I had hardly touched my meal.
Good luck to you and me on our journey.

You can have mine too. I did find warm broth to go down the best, but I am just on milk for the first time today and with Roundy's sugar free Milk Mix, even the fortied milk tastes good and goes down well.

Ooops.. Do you realize that makes you normal?
I had my heart set on this and the morning of got cold feet but kept telling myself. I can't do it alone. I need this help... For the first few days I was so scared as to what I had done... but now that most of the pain is gone and I am feeling better, I know it was right for me... you will too...
But I have heard from many posts that say.... it is normal to be more sensitive and emotional as the fat holds a lot of estrogen and as it is burned you get more released into your system... so don't fret... you are very normal... Thank God... because that makes me normal too!
Best of luck and glad you had no or limited complications.

Way to go! I was on 1/26. I'm down some appears to be 11 since day before surgery, but I have so much to lose.
Glad there are no complications!
It is great to be on this side finally. For all of us!

Topic: RE: Pureed Foods and Food Processor
A simple hand submersable mixer purees fine like the Braun. might be more versitle than a food processor. Since puree's only last a short time. I have also seen a food processor at Walmart which holds about a cup for $10.00 that might be a better buy but look around. I did find that to puree 2-3 ounces at a minimum worked better than trying to do less, then store in fridge..
Hope that helps.

Topic: RE: Pureed Foods and Food Processor
My program has me start on pureed food after leak test... well for dinner. Protein only but using Light mayo or broth to make things juicy.
I found the greek yogurt and was mixing with light regular flavor yogurts for a boost in protein but more flavor. Cottage cheese with season salt, Dad made a turkey so I have had pureed turkey with broth..to blend but ate it with FF gravy. I don't like poultry much but it was good for a while. I wanted the extra protein that meat gives so I did one ounce of pureed meat and worked up to one ounce of yougurt blend. To day I am adding supplimented milk so that will help.
I found white albacore tuna with light mayo was quite good. I want to try a soft boiled egg for lunch as pureed scrambled eggs weren't that great but I don't like much in my egg except veggies and cheese neither of which work right now.
I may try hard boiled egg and mayo pureed. That would be simple egg salad.. I was told not to do beef or pork yet. once I'm up a stage or so, but that can be harder to digest and therefore not worth all the trouble to cook and puree right now.
I was having trouble with the water and found that broth went down easier and I could get more in without forcing the timer etc. When trying to drink by the timer I was drinking in too much air and had to keep stopping from the gas pains. The would burp a lot... Sipping warm broth is just normal so it worked better.
I was surprised on how much I prefer plain water to flavored. I thought for sure I would need crystal light type stuff just to get it down. But it appears that is harder to get down now than plain water.

For some reason I'm not really a fan of water either. I've been doing apple juice/water mix, and ginger ale. I'm happy :0)
The sf drinks like crystal light and stuff, aren't really working for me, which like the other person added, are kinda nasty....guess you can have mine too, lol.

Topic: RE: surgery on 27th- how are u doing?
Sounds like your off to a wonderful start!
I entered the hospital at about 307, right now I'm 298, and trust me, I'm a short, pudgy 5'2 I think. I think we are both headed in the right direction. I'm going to be honest. I haven't really had that much water, and that's because it still kinda tastes nasty, but I'm currently having a love affair with sugar free popsicles, ginger ale and apple juice.
