I love the fact that you said there are days you feel skinny and days you feel huge...hahaha! I had a week where I felt huge! Last week was horrible. The scale didn't seem to move at all and I felt ginormous! I feel better this week. Why is that. Also I felt like I could eat a whole lot last week. This week a few bites and I am full. This whole experience is strange and wonderful at the same time. I am almost 5 months post-op and down 93 pounds.

I have the same insurance. I was denied after my prior authorization was submitted because my BMI was not 40 even though I had high blood pressure and other medical problems due to obesity, however I did appeal and it was approved the second time around. Hope it works out. Good Luck!

Hey January Buddy's!! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I am 4 months post op tomorrow!! So far I am down 80lbs. I just started to lose hair, but I have very thick hair so it's not showing yet. Hopefully it won't. Everything has been pretty good. I have days I want to eat and days I just don't. There are days I feel skinny and days I feel huge. As for food I am eating mostly seafood and white meats, but have added salads in here and there. Shrimp is one of my best friends and so good on protein. I am taking 2 multivitamins, 3 D vitamins, and 4 calcium a day. Any stories or tips? Would love to know how everyone is doing!!

I think biotin helps the hair that is growing in be stronger.  I don't think it does anything for the hair you already have which is falling out.  Also remember that while biotin encourages hair growth on your head, it also encourages hair growth on the rest of your body.

I'm almost 5 months out.  I'm want to take a look at the nioxin shampoo line and see how it is supposed to help.

Anyway, we are told your hair will start to fall out at 3-4 months out, continue falling out for 3-4 months and start to regrow in the next 3-4 months.

The bariatric team contacted my insurance (unitedhealthcare choice plus) with an okay. They were told all three procedures were covered.  Then I called and the rep tells me no.  Then the bariatric team calls again and a rep tells her no. The bariatric teams says i should submit claim and appeal. Any advise? I was exited at first but now my hope dwindles because I cannot afford this with cash. Anyone else had this happen? What are the odds that they will cover the procedure with an appeal?

I have been a Biotin junkie, biotin pills, biotin shampoo and conditioner. My hair loss is so bad I am getting it cut short, short tomorrow.

Topic: RE: Weight loss slowed
I have had weight slow down also since my 12 week**** in April.  But I think it is because I lost so much in the first three months.  I lost almost 68 lbs in three months.  Now, I will lose 2 lbs, then stall for about a week, and then poof, I lose 2lbs.  I am exercising too, especially since it has gotten nice in Michigan now. I do notice that I am losing the inches, so I am guessing that I am losing the inches because of the exercises, and gaining muscle that I have never had.

I am glad that I am not the only one that has slowed down.  I was getting really frustrated with myself.  I was doing everything asked but nothing was happening for a while.  Thanks!

My weight loss is slowing. But I started out so fast so at 4 months I was down 69lbs.which is just less than 20/ month but the first two months were much faster. This third and fourth month are much slower. officially 8lbs last month. but starting to move again.
But I am eating outside of the plan so I start now with going back to basics...
