Topic: Liquid Diet Question
Since you all are going through this as well what have u all decided to do? Just meal replacements or Just Protein drinks-shakes or a combination of both? I am thinking of doing both. Chike meal replacements and Unjury Protein Powder simply bc I like the idea of the chicken soup and the unflavored especially to use on Xmas day when everyone is eating, I was thinking of adding sweet potatos to the unflavored unjury with cinnamon and nutmeg. Hmmm.. can I add nutmeg and cinnamon???? I definately wanna also have Isopure to make me feel like I am having a Sobe. I am trying to trick my mind I guess. What do you think?

How exciting!! I'm having RNY on the 5th and I'm so excited!

My husband deploys to Afghanistan shortly after my surgery and I cannot wait to see him on his mid-tour break in the summer! It will be so neat to see how much I loose and what he thinks!

Congrats girl!

Topic: RE: IVC Filter- Personal Experience
The IVC filter is the Inferior Vena Cava filter. Your IVC is the main vein that returns deoxygenated blood from your lower extremities to your heart to be re-oxygenated. The filter is place via the groin to help prevent DVT and PE (deep vein thromboses and pulmonary embolism) or basically blood clots from making to your lungs and possibly causing death.

I don't think all surgeons make their patients do this. My surgeon and surgical location happens to be a center of excellence, which makes them a bit more strict. They have to be in order to keep their status. I'm not sure the guidelines as to who they require to get the IVC filter. I'm not sure if it goes by weight or BMI, or possibly both. Your surgeon probably would have already let you know you'd need this if you had to have it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if your concerned.

Good luck!!
