Just wanted to check in with everyone who started the program.  I had some troubles downloading the podcast so I seemed to jump from week 3 to week 6... but I was able to complete week 6!  Two sets of ten min. and I gotta be honest.... it was way easier than I could have imagined!  I have not meen able to complete the 25 min. jog but I am stronger and faster each time I go.  I remember my first two week on the program prior to surgery.  I was dying!!! I would be so irritated when the guy on the potcast would infom me that I should not be out of breath... mean while I would be gasping for air.!!  It has been a neat expeience testing my body's limits and feeling stronger daily.

How is everyone else doing?

Hey Celia-

If I can do it anyone can.  Couch to 5k has a website if you google it.  But, this guy does a free pod cast for each week that will provide ok music and tell you when to walk and when to run.  Check it out at http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/podcasts/podcasts.htm  Let me know how it goes for ya!  Keep on truckin!

That's great Christy. I am still working on Week 1. When the guy is telling me I should start to feel winded but not totally winded, I am dying. Just goes to show how totally out of shape I am in.

HA!!  I know what you mean!!  I would get really irritated at that because I could barely catch my breath!  But.....  it gets better slowly.  And some days I can push myself more than others.  But I gotta tell you by struggling early on will make you really appreciate how strong you are when you are able to jog 25 min without stopping and not gasping for air and not dripping with sweat.  I didn't think it could happen but it did!!!  Keep going!!

Christy, Where are you running? On a track? On the treadmill? On the street? Curious. I can't run treadmill. I am running on a nearby walking trail and it's hilly in some spots and those hills really kill me. I think if I was on a flatter surface I would be able to tolerate it more!

I jog with my dog on trails so it is hilly and rocky.  I actually find it harder and harder on my body to walk or run on flat surfaces.  If the hill is too steep I just briskly walk up it and start jogging as soon as I can... I havent tried to jog on a flat surface lately.
