Hi! I'm new to this forum.  I had my surgery on 1/25 and got my period a couple of days ago.  It was very heavy I wonder if the surgery or  new way of eating is affecting it.  I'm glad you posted about it because I was wondering if it was just me.   Good Luck!   Diane

hey January buddies, so glad to hear from ya!  - Diane glad to have you aboard, and welcome!
No Wows here - I am just crawling along!  I'm a little disappointed that my weight loss is going so slow.  I guess I thought it would be easier than it has been - but it's still work!   Measuring food, logging, keeping up with calorie count, not to mention EXCERCISE!   For breakfast, I had cereal - I thought, JUST a bowl of cereal, right?  Turned out to be almost 400 calories!! - because I added a few pieces of cashews!  So that was not worth the calories!  I tried the Wendy's chili yesterday - that was really good!   Got a small, and ate lunch and dinner with it.   I'm starting to eat more, and that's not good I guess, but I still am not up to 1200 calories.  I feel like I'm cheating since I can eat more than 300 or so calories now!  Since I'm eating more food,  I'm having trouble getting in all the whey protein.   How much are y'all getting in?  I'm barely getting in 60g, and that's when I really try!  Are y'all starting to eat more food now?  I have not had any trouble (knock on wood!) with any foods, and that kinda scares me.  I know I will have to work really hard on this and pray I will be successful.  I'm scared that it will be just like before surgery and I'll still have any eating problem!   Y'all keep posting, I need y'all - I know I'll have to have lots of support!  Hugs!

Hi,  I completely agree with you that it is still work.   I have to wake up an hour early or go to sleep an hour late to get the excercise in. I just work out every other day.  It says on th bottom of your  post that you lost 27lbs since your surgery that's great steady weight loss!.  I also have trouble with the protein.   I get about 20g in (bad I know) with the protein drink..   I also try to eat as much protein as I can with food.   I  was able to tolerate the atkins protein bars.   I eat one a day.   I'm sure my hair is going to fall out in April.   I'm also worried about tolerating some foods.   I have no problem with pasta or  crackers but my doctor said a small amount is okay as long as I stick to whole wheat. Have no idea how much I'm getting in but it's more than two weeks ago.  Read somewhere that we do have to start eating more or our metabolism slows down too much and we don't lose as much weight.  If my insurance helps cover it I'm going to see a nutritionist. Sorry if this message rambles on but I am trying to write with my husband and son calling me for something every five minutes.  Hang in there!

I've had some challenges the past few weeks.  I'm sticking to the restrictions from my surgeon's office of 60-75 grams of protein and no more than 50 grams of carbs a day.  I was struggling with the carb limitations and I felt hungry in between meals so we decided to up my protein and only if needed I could go over the recommended carb amount.  My activity level is doing really great and I have worked up to 5 days a week at the gym which is 3 days of a step aerobics class for an hour and 2 days of 30 minutes on the elliptical and then 30 minutes of light strength training.  I've also been constipated but found that a glass of lite prune juice does the job.  My work clothes are really big now and people at work at starting to notice, and with that comes the dreaded "how much weight have you lost" question which I hate! Anyway, good luck to all of the January people.

Hi all....I miss my January girls! No major WOWs a few small ones. I bought a pair of jeans this weekend (mind you stretchy jeans) but they were a size 22. I was in a very tight 28. Also went to a concert Saturday and the seat wasn't digging into my sides. I was very excited about that one. Other than that I feel pretty good, no complaints and just rolling along. I forget to take my vitamins some days and I probably am not getting enough protein. I sometimes have to tell myself to go eat. What a weird sensation for me. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. Stay in touch!
